Just got back from 2,200 mile trip - Alabama to Connecticut & back. Very pleasant experience. It's just a fun car to drive. Selected Eco drive mode entire trip. Average 29.8 miles/gal [per car computer]. Entire trip was Interstate - majority of trip set cruise @ 78 mi/hr. Overall speed average was about 67 mi/hr. Used premium gas entire trip [BP/ Sunoco]. Oh by the way, didn't see another Stinger, got lots of looks & "can't believe it's a Kia". Next - looking for a drag strip so I can do some practice trails.

Pretty close to my experience in two long trips, Missouri to Michigan and Missouri to Colorado. My average was around 28 mpg in Comfort mode at 77 mph on 75 mph Interstates running the air conditioner and loaded car. 10,000 miles and mine is still perfect.

Sounds like a good trip. Are you able to put your location into your profile please.

Nice drive & yes it is an enjoyable car to drive, sounds like you had a good trip.
On a side note this is in no way to be offensive but I found find it funny that you monitored your fuel consumption of your trip & now your looking for a drag stip....that’s gold....lol.

How are those seats, were you driving through the day, pausing for fuel and food? I've spent a max of 2 hours in traffic in the car so far, but the seats feel like they could be comfortable for those 10+ hr/day trips.

I’m hoping the seats are comfortable for long hours of driving. Two cars I owned I praised for this are my old 2000 A4 and the current Volvo S60. My BMW 535 with the 20 way adjustable seats never got as comfortable as those 2.

I drove about 8 hrs/day with stops for fuel. The seats were great - no back issues no dead ass [ran w/seats cooled]

Hey just want to see what I can do in sports mode

I’m dying to take mine on a road trip because of the seats and I think the active lane keeping assist would be nice, not to mention how fun it is to drive. I’ve taken two several hour trips since I’ve owned him...one in the wife’s Optima and one in a rented minivan...smh.

I spent several days driving 8 hours/day or longer. The seats are excellent especially in the GT2 with all the adjustments, but my main concern with any car is the leg room. Far too many cars these days are bringing the dash down at an angle back toward the center console and then making that part of the dash/console wider to accommodate all the AV crap, LCD screen, radio and HVAC controls. For a tall person like I am, that takes away far too much knee room to move around -- too confining. The first thing I looked at when considering the Stinger is that leg/knee room to the side which I found to be adequate. Very few cars pass that test for me, and a lot of cars I might have considered, I never even sat in the seat because of that confinement. It seems to be an industry fad to make huge center consoles with all the toys for the screen swipers. A lot of cars other than the Stinger lost my consideration because of that.

Nobody on this thread is breaking 30 MPG (as I've seen boasted of by two of our august company today), or even coming close. What's with all of us? Are we mere mortals in the fuel economy contest? I barely touched 29 MPG on my last road trip, a record for me. I've seen 28.3 a number of times. But cruising at 27.something or even 26 is the most common fuel consumption I see.

on my 2.0 i get around 37/38 on long trips, although as we all know this can rapidly go down with sport mode and a heavy right foot

Probably need to be cruising at <70 cooler day to avg 30+ in the v6. The car is heavy and the compression ratio, while great for upgrades and higher boost, is not quite a economy car.

is not quite a economy car.
LOL. I guess not! I never thought I was buying an "economy car" when I insisted on the 3.3TT. Even the 2.0T is not an economy car, it just doesn't gulp fuel in such quantities. :)

Think of the progress made over the past 10 years, a twin turbo v6 putting out 365hp would be getting low 20's at best. Now you can get 30 mpg, 70 mph steady driving on a limited access highway. Has a lot to do with the transmission gearing.

as far as being able to have your cake and eat it too, BMW n series straight 6 single twin scroll turbo motors are probably the best in the game, they have probably the widest range of response, torque and HP are as linear as can be and for a car that puts down mid 300whps, its still able to get 25-35mpg depending if you're in a 5,000lb 5 series or a 3600 lb 3 series. Now if they just get the reliability and the old steering feel back, I'll be first in line. For now, nothing on the market at this price point even comes close to offering the value proposition of the stinger v6.

Just got my Motor Trend with all the new cars for 2019. Think it might be lonely in the line: 3 Series = $36k to $67.5k 5 Series = $52.5k to $110.9 Stinger = $33k to $52k BMW does have a good product but I would not be in that line due to price.

BMW has always commanded a premium price, but the little special things like the way the engine loves to build and Rev, the way the steering telegraphs surface textured to your fingers, the way you can throttle steer a e46 or even e90 3 series around the bend. Since they've gone upmarket in terms of luxury and comfort, bmw is not worth the premium it charges... But what do I know they still sell x5's, 3 series and 5 series by the boat loads!

I've noticed that the trip computer is, on average, 1.2 to 1.4 mpg better then actual. That being the case, i would need to see 31.2 on the trip computer and best i have seen is 28 and change

Wow great trip! I travel to Bloomington every once (from Chicagoloand - about 300 Miles round trip) in a while and last time i took my stinger. I got about 27 MPG on comfort mode.
