Hi, anyone else experience this? Usually when I am stopped, or just getting going, and am turning the wheel. Like if I was parallel parking, or turing the wheel to get ready to leave. I often get what sounds like a rubbing/grinding/scraping noise from the left front. It is a short, 'quick' noise, like something adjusted and reset. The tire is not rubbing on anything, had it looked over. It does not do this at higher speeds (yet).

Making me worried my steering assembly is a mess or something. It is not the normal CV joint clicking sound.

Like this guy's noise?

Hi, thanks for that...it actually does sound like that, but mine is from front left...and it does not happen like that, constant, over bumps, etc. Only when turning the wheel and going super slow/not moving. i posted in that one as it seems he still did not have a resolutionas of March 31. It DOES sound like that though. Such a strange one.

My front Eibach sway bar makes similar creaking noises that I only hear when going very slowly. If this sound you describe is emanating from the FL when steering I would suspect some artifact out of the power steering system.

^^^What I mean is, the steering system noises that can be individual to the vehicle only manifest at a standstill or moving very slowly when you throw the steering wheel to maneuver, as when parking: if the same noises do not show up when you're driving then, if it were me, I would not hasten to the dealer over it: I'd live with the odd, low speed noises, unless or until an actual felt and heard issue crops up while driving.

Thanks, yeah...I am just looking at everything right now because I just bought out the lease. I have not done anything to the car other than oil changes and rotations. Ignored any small things, thinking I was turning it in. Now, though, I want to address all that stuff and get other maintenance done. I read things that Kia recommends things like greasing hinges, joints, doors, etc. I just changed the engine air and cabin air filter for first time (34K miles) and am trying to find a local shop that could do the other regular maintenance. Closest dealer is 45 mins away, and you need appts weeks out, and then it is often left for weeks at a time.

I've experienced a similar sound, most notably after I back out of the driveway, shift to drive then turn the wheel right and accelerate.

Mine does this too … mostly when it’s cold. Put in reverse and when I turn the wheel in drive and start to move there is a second of grinding that takes place.. when car is all warmed up it doesn’t really do it

Yes, mine is just like that. Do you have any idea what it is? Drives me crazy. Has anyone actually had this looked in to?

As an aside, my sunroof clunking noise over bumps has also gotten progressively worse. I think it is in the headliner.

I've been experiencing the same issue for two to three years. The dealership has a hard time replicating the issue but they did once and say it is actually the rear control arms that is reverberating around to sound like the front. They also drove a 2022 GT2 and said the could replicate the issue with the brand new car, So this is not a warranty issue. I don't know if I totally agree and was thinking it is the driver side front strut mount but further investigation will be needed. So it sounds like contacting Kia will be the next step as this is unacceptable for a 4-year-old car and also a new car. @kiausa

This is known as spamming the forum. I understand your desire to not be overlooked with your issue, but really, posting the exact same thing on four threads isn't very cool.

Didn't know there was rules to replying to people's issues and trying to give insight. So I guess there should only be one thread for the same issue? Guess I'm not cool Richard.

I was only reacting to seeing the same post four times across four threads. There aren't rools per se, just a recommendation to not do that: maybe I'm in a bit of a pissy mood too. You can ignore what I said of course. (And if your name is Richard, I'd say you're cool.)

Merlin, I found this helpful, as I am not following any of the other threads you mentioned, but I am following this one, so I was notified of this post and it is something I may reference to my own dealer.

Hey Man I have my 2018 Kia stinger and it’s doing the same noise

If your cars suspension is modified at all, having these noises may be normal.

Any updates on this? Mine does the exact same thing.

Mine makes these noises. Friend's stinger also makes these noises. Usually from dead stop to full steering lock turns.
