Got my sunroof frame replaced , the noises have gone ...............so far !

My dealership refused to look at my squeaky sunroof as I had put on an aftermarket dash cam. They also refused to look at the trunk thunk over bumps because the dash cam is a dual channel with a forward and reverse facing dashcam. Looks like i'm going to have to live with it or fix it myself.

Was the refusal because they are blaming the problems on your mods or because they are worried about being recorded?

They only mentioned how trip had to be removed for it to be installed. I only pulled off part of the A pillar trim and placed 2 wires in there on the outside of the airbag. They also mentioned headliner but I just tucked in part of it where it meets the windshield. I just think they didn't want to do the work and that was their excuse to not do it.

Yep, definitely sounds like they were just making excuses to remove the responsibility off of themselves. Take it to a different dealership, if possible.

Was yours the Deep Chroma Blue at Hendrick Kia in Cary, NC? The service advisor said they had another one come in for the sunroof but had discovered “aftermarket modifications had been made” and they refused to fix it. If it makes you feel any better they had mine almost two weeks and still were unable to fix it.

The service advisor said they had another one come in for the sunroof but had discovered “aftermarket modifications had been made” and they refused to fix it. If it makes you feel any better they had mine almost two weeks and still were unable to fix it.

Mine was micro blue, still not sure if those are same colors or not. So a dash cam is an aftermarket modification? If that is the case, i'm surprised they turned my rotors with my aftermarket powder coating on the OE wheels.

Yeah that’s bullshit...a dash cam is not a modification. I can’t believe that’s all it was. Consider yourself spared two weeks of wasted time though.

Or like me, you are waiting 2.5 months and still don't have your vehicle.......

Try the Kia place in Raleigh on Glenwood. I forget their name but they repaired under warranty a cracked oil filter housing on my Stinger no questions asked (and it was 100% my doing that caused the crack).

Just got my 2019 GT2 back from the dealer. Took longer than expected - they managed to break my windshield in the process - but the rattle is gone. So far very happy.

I am a g70 owner about to embark on this fix. I will give updates on what happens. I think it's a known issue, because Hyundai suggested this immediately after the tech couldn't make any effective adjustments.
