My Stinger was just a few weeks old when I took it to the grocery store. Lo and behold there was a parking place available in the Ceramic Silver GT2 Stinger section. Take a look:

Cool "wild sighting". But you're not quite accurate: the only "Stinger section" in any parking lot is an end stall. And s/he already had that. If they pulled out before you, there goes your protected driver side. (whoever they are, they know how to park: right end stall - less chance of a door opening toward them - and look how far over they are, hugging the curb)

In Australia, and I presume every other country where Stinger is sold, and numerous US states it's compulsory to have a front number plate, it seems that the US state where you live, no front plate is required, as both Stingers in your photos don't have a front plate and it looks awesome , I'm guessing most would be abit jealous..

Yes, many states don't require front plates. I guess the thinking is that the only times a plate is read is when the police are chasing someone or when a toll camera needs to take a picture. Since you're rarely going to be in reverse with the police chasing you, the front plate is kind of unnecessary.

Government up here dropped front plates many years ago. Reason: 50% savings.

Our speed cameras in Western Australia capture both front and back number plates so fat chance of losing our front plates any time soon. Its only allowed on motorbikes.

Ah...yes. I spent six years in Lubbock. The place behind the front plate was the only place on the front of the car that didn't get sandblasted during the wind storms.

Good old Lubbock: lotsa' beach, no ocean.

I think that most jurisdictions only have a missing front plate as a "second offense", and you can't be cited for not having a front plate unless you're cited for something else first, like speeding.

Until I got on the forum, and one of you pointed to the Utah legislation, I was mistaken my whole life in assuming that Utah was a state that didn't require a front plate: that's because I can't think of a single incident where anyone I know of ever got cited for no front plate. But, it's clear as day in the statute that a front plate is required in Utah. I read it with my own eyes; a revelation.

When I got cited a couple of months ago for bailing from an HOV lane across the solid lines, the cop (a very officious woman) didn't even do a walk around of my car, so, "no front plate" was likely the furthest thing from her mind. That attitude, I believe, is typical of cops in Utah. The law is effectively a dead letter if it isn't enforced.

I'm surprised at the number of vehicles I see with no rear plate. A front plate in that case might avoid citation: but I'm pretty sure that cops don't want anybody driving with no rear plate. (I've also seen a surprising number of vehicles with NO plate, not even paper temporaries; and you have to wonder what is going through some people's heads, thinking that they can get away with driving an unlicensed car.)

As what Merlin says I always try to park nearest to the curb. As well as position, timing is a factor. I try to avoid peak hour times at the shops.
Here is my park this morning before 8am.I have been lucky so far and a car hasn't parked next to me.
