Maybe. "I do not race" is my moto. But that is solely confined to public roads. Should a venue present itself where the Public are restricted, I'd have no issues mashing the kickdown switch all in good fun.

The question did say in the right conditions, so I would think this as meaning - no other cars on the road, no sign of the police and good weather.

Yes, but it wouldn't be so random for me. The public roads you can "safely" race on are not random. But it all comes down to a judgement call, and I don't think its something to brag about. At the end of the day, its still illegal and could inspire others to be unsafe.

I guess everyone's definition of a race is different but I do juice it quite frequently, but only with great visibility, dry conditions and in a straight line. never once got side to side with someone and orchestrated a race though. just a quick pull away from someone you know has a performance car.

If I'm at the front at a set of traffic lights and my lane merges with another one I'll give it WOT to overtake the other car but I don't exceed the speed limit by more than 10km/h. I'm not sure if that qualifies as a 'race' or not.

There are no "right" conditions to race on public roads.
Are there "right conditions" to test/enjoy the car's performance? I have pushed to 155 MPH with literally no living thing in sight for well over half an hour.

how did you know that?

Fact: you didn't. Admit it.
Have you ever been on Hwy 95 in Oregon, heading for Nevada? I knew something up ahead was up: no traffic, for miles; nobody behind me was going to catch me, so perfectly safe from that direction; no side roads, only an arrow-straight two lane highway visible for miles, and no traffic, at all, in either directionU.S.95.webp.
I seized the moment and went fast. It has not been a condition that has repeated itself (traffic was held back miles ahead for some roadwork).

It's what I do most of the time. Or if I'm merging onto the highway, I step on it to get up to highway speeds. In a year and a half of ownership, I've only ever "raced" from a stoplight against some random a few times and it was only up to 10 over the speed limit.

You should get out more. Go for a nice drive through the countryside or a desert.

You can safely race someone up to the speed limit from a set of traffic lights. No offence for how fast you get to the speed limit. I'm not talking 'fast and furious' here Adam.

Oh, wait, I see what I said there: no, I did NOT go 155 MPH for half an hour. I meant that my window of opportunity was over half an hour long. I only touched 155 once; I did a few runs prior to that reaching into the 140s. It was a glorious afternoon. :)

Did you happen to see your fuel gauge at that speed? Can you see the needle moving?
