HI everyone,

Going to look at this 2.5T today. Its exactly the one ive been looking for. Anything i need to know from the experts here? Anything would be appreciated..im talking my buddy with me who is a hardcore haggler..if there is a deal or a way to talk this price down he will do it...

I cant post the link but its the 2022 Ceramic Silver at Danbury Kia if anyone has the time to take a look. I found it on Autotrader..

Thanks guys!!

this one I presume Autotrader - page unavailable
looks clean as a whistle. I see premiums with four times the miles, 2019MY, going for that much or a few thousand less - well, maybe not going for that much, but asking that much. So, that seems like a fair asking price to me.

Yeah thats it...thanks!! I agree it seems like a sweet deal. Many car dealers are struggling bad with excess inventory and want much of it gone so maybe thats why. Unsure if Kia/Hyundai, etc are as affected as Ford and GM. I have a Bloomberg terminal in front of me daily as i work for a firm with 6 billion under management. The data we are seeing about the auto sector is crazy..we have no idea how some of these OEMs like Stelantis/Ford/GM are surviving..we can only assume they are in serious trouble and just hanging on.

Will def update when i see the car hopefully in a few hours if not tomorrow.

I see from your intro thread that you'd prefer a 3.3L. I understand your reasoning. so, keep looking. there are quite a few 3.3L out there that are in the same price range as the four-pot. I have one of each. the 3.3L is definitely more fun to WOT with, if you are going to compare that. otherwise, the driving fun is not less with two cylinders less 90% plus of the time.

Looks just like mine. A base model 2022, no frills. Expect to be putting new tires on as it looks to have the OE bridgestone garbage and appears to be quite worn. Dealership could use a better photographer as not all angles of the car are included. Not too many other things should need service unless the driver was the binary type - full throttle, full brake.

Three years ago (technically 2 years 11 months), I paid $37,5+ttl for the same thing (floor mats and fancy rearview mirror were the only options). Car ~13,5K miles on it now.

4 vs 6 (vs 8) is the age old question and depends on the type of driving you do. If most is interstate, long distance, the 6 can do quite well in terms of mpg. If more urban and local, the 4 will get in the mid 20's avg. Power is plenty for more situations, just requires a few more downshifts.

One of the selling points was the GDI + MPI, which the 6 is only GDI.

Well i just went to look at the car with my son....

And it had just been sold. It had only been there for a day or so... crazy..and they didnt have any others to look at.

The dealer tried to get me into a K5 and said they would swap me out a 2024 K5 GT for my S2000 which i drove there.

I literally laughed in the dudes face..

Ill keep lookin though, thanks for all the feedback guys..

It's obviously a class smaller, but the K5 is a sharp little car...only dealbreaker for me would be having to choose between the GT engine, and AWD. Having the 2.5 with a tune going through a dual clutch to all four wheels in a car that size would be a blast.

Missing out on this Stinger can only be a sign to hold out for the 3.3...

Nice, you have an S2K (got any pics??, love those cars!), since you're obviously a car guy, the need for speed might take priority? If so the 3.3T ftw! Should be able to find one in the price range if you expand your search and are ready to act fast, they don't last long. I have a G70, and I looked high & low for a 3.3T loaded and lost at least 8 by waiting around or getting bumped out of a deal that I thought I had locked-in. Need to have everything ready to go on your end and jump when you find one (after doing all you can to ensure it's a solid buy that is) :)

Yeah for sure, the K5 is a really nice car but why go for a K5 when you can go for a Stinger if you want a great performance sedan. One thing about the Stinger to me is that its makes a performance sedan affordable to those who cant drop cash on an Audi or BMW.. I love the Acura TLX-S its an amazing car but with 3 teenage boys that’s not happening.

Ill keep looking thanks for the feedback !!

Hey man yeah, its a 2001 S2k...i add some pics here. My s2k is my baby..like for the last 12 years im obsessed. Everywhere i go im stopped when people see the car..strangers scream from sidewalks about the car..when i roll into the show everyone turns around. However, im getting old..and the s2k needs a front end refresh, clutch and a new interior. This led me to look for a performance sedan and i settled on the Stinger. I have an hour commute and I want a performance sedan thats got power and comfort and to treat myself to something better than the old beater. I have a few im looking at, but the mileage is really high. I’m not spending 25 to 30K for a 2020 GT with 96K..not happening. And low mileage i see still going for 35 to 40K. So its all still up in the air right now. I’m GOING to get a Stinger my mind is set on it. Just how long it takes remains to be seen.

One thing on the S2k..nothing, and i mean nothing, beats screaming to 9K RPM and making it all the way to 65 mph and your still only in second gear..car is amazing in every way i feel privileged to own it

Thanks for those pics, looks like you've taken great care of that fine ride

class smaller in performance maybe... actual dimensions larger than stinger in almost every way. :) other than cargo capacity.. and same... i "might" consider one if it was the gt with awd... kinda like acura where the rear can be overdriven.. :D that would be a fun daily.

Thanks man...If all goes as planned, next set of pics will be the S2K parked to her new Kia Stinger sister. Looking every day, sometimes 3 to 4 times as i dont wanna miss a deal..

Yeah i admit it was tempting to look harder at the K5 GT when i was at the dealership, its a sweet ride..but i chose the Stinger and thats it..hopefully ill be able to say i have one soon!

Reportedly the K5 GT really needs an LSD if you try to do any spirited driving. Otherwise you just roast the front tires (and deal with torque steer) whenever you mash the throttle.

Keep the Genesis G70 in your searches (if you don't need a hatchback/extra passenger space). Same drivetrain as the Stinger, and you might find one overlooked on a lot somewhere (maybe even new).

Commercial realty started its implosion as well. Gonna be interesting to see if any 'creative accounting' was being used under everyone's radar like the 2008 mortgage derivative bundling. Contagion is the biggest risk as it affects more than some wealthy bankers/hedge fund bros.

Yeah, the Genesis forum isn't as active as it is over here, but the G70 is great, have had two now and love our 3.3T in our loaded 21. If you don't need room for more than 2 adults and a couple naughty kids they're perfect, luckily all I have is a wife and a small dog so it's all good here :)

We have a '23 K5 GT at home with a tune and intake, shocks, struts and springs all upgraded to go along with the Stinger. If they made it AWD it would be phenomenal. It trap speeds at 115 mph from a 40mph roll in the 1/4 mile. Would be quicker if it didn't try to wheel hop or smoke the tires on the drag strip. My wife loves it and I smile every time i go out and bang through the gears. Still worth looking at if you don't get a Stinger

Just to add my two cents worth. I know you were looking at the 2.5T Stinger and missed out on it unfortunately.
If I can, I'd suggest you keep a look out for a 3.3 V6 Stinger. You won't regret it.
I bought a new 2023 Elite (Canada) last year, and it is unreal. The power behind the V6 will put a smile on your face.
I say this because many years ago, I bought a new 2006 Altima. There were 2 on the lot. A 2.5 four banger, and a 3.5 V6.
I bought the 4 banger because it was a few bucks cheaper. I drove that car for ten years, and kicked myself every day for not getting the V6. I vowed never to make the same mistake again. Get the V6.
