GoFastBits BOV Kits - 5 options explained - Sound Clip - KHARTUNERZ

So you improved on the intake part of the air boxes? The intake is very restrictive.
Yes, I bought another set of OEM airboxes off someone who put on an aftermarket intake. I cut out extra slots to allow more airflow in the areas furthest away from the engine and removed the little reducer/mating piece in the front that connects to the snorkel. Here's picture of one side.. the other is pretty much the same.
I might add K&N drop in filters later, but I haven't decided yet.

Try running 19 psi with no throttle closure without an ecu tune. Please I'll pay you $100.
Sorry, I'm not following what you're trying to say.

But since you have the data logging ability, I encourage you to post up your results. I would love to see them.

Dude you have no idea. Yes I do have a jb4 and ran full bolt ons. There is throttle closure @Tonkabob I'm sure has logs of his aswell. I dont have any logs as I just got another jb4 after removing my old one.

I found @Tonkabob's latest drag run and log he posted here:
Drag/Acceleration - Mods to improve ¼ mile times and unofficial track thread

In it you can see the Pedal is pegged to the max, the throttle is wide open through the whole run and the boost pressure never drops through the shifts (as it would if the divert valve blew off the pressure).

I want to thank @nodenwire for helping me find that thread.

He has an ecu tune. Again. You have zero knowledge. Let me know when you start modding

Yeah i have an ecu tune and just adding 1 or 2 psi w jb4 in the cold to break dragy records. All full bolt on piggies close throttle on 1-2 and some on every shift. One can't shift into 5th gear at all sometimes. But the owner is a bit of a tool so maybe the car is getting revenge?

Here’s one example of my friends JB4 running 19psi without any throttle closure. He makes about 450whp with intakes, DPs & exhaust. I’ll take that $100 now;)

I think throttle closure is rare with the JB4 and may be due to catless primaries and/or cold weather conditions.

If I wasnt lazy I'd insert the willy Wonka you get nothing gif...

Lol

It's really quite common. As tonka stated above most fbo stingers on piggybacks have throttle closures dut to limiters being hit and bouncing off them.

Looks like I have at least some knowledge. Lol. Since the the deal was towards me, did you want to send me a check or Paypal me that $100?

BTW, Here's xot1's log with more than 19psi and no throttle closure.

Can't tell what owner you're talking about here, but I'm just trying to reduce the misinformation getting passed around.
DaBears made a claim that there's faster spool during shifts throttle closed during shifts with this BOW on our Stingers. I claimed that the throttle doesn't close during shifts, so the BOV/Diverter doesn't even come into play during shifts on our automatic cars. I provided a log of my stock car, provided your log of your modified car & xot1's modified car backing up my claim. DaBears4Lyfe still makes the claim (well, he modified his claim to say it's only on modified cars) and tries to say I don't know what I'm talking about and has still yet to show any proof of his claims.
Our elected officials do that all the time, so I guess that's the world we live in, unfortunately.

Haha nice! It’s like the Swiss cheese airbox method. Pull the airbox(s), drill holes under the filter section and let her breath more.

Not too worried about the warm air as the turbos will super-heat any air coming to them. Just need to give em more air.

JB4 Map 8 throttle closed during shifts in cold weather. The diverter valve made a pshhh sound letting out boost during the shift from 1-2. I will try the IAT wire to see if that helps.

Thank you for that. Good info. I saw a couple posts showing this behavior in the 1/4 mile thread and they all seem to happen with cold weather and only usually affects the only the 1-2 shift but the other shifts it remains open. xot1 was saying his didn’t have throttle closure in Sept (which I assume was warmer) and now seeing it. Maybe something with the colder/denser air?
Do you see that same throttle closure in warmer weather?

I just went through my logs since May and I don't have any data in map 0 with stock boost or even map 1 or map 2. I found in all of my logs in Map 3 and higher, the throttle closed to less than 80% during the shift from 1-2. I never realized this until I added intakes and could hear the release of boost clearly during the shift. Unfortunately this was happening during the summer months as well so that doesn't limit this to only the cold temperatures though the throttle closure does seem more extreme now. I'd like to figure this out as my 0-60 and 1/4 mile times have been suffering greatly. It seems like no matter how much extra boost I run, I lose it when the throttle closes and I ultimately end up with similar times. Any suggestions would be great. If changing out the BOVs would help to recover boost during shifts I am interested in trying it.

There is no way not to lose boost if the throttle closes that much.
Need an ecu tune to raise the torque limits so the throttle stays open.

Anything for the 22 models yet?
If you're talking about the 3.3, then any of the BOV's for the 3.3 will work. If you're talking about the 2.5, that's probably a different story.
