My backyard dealership, whom i had gone to before their auction pickup 18' GT was on the lot, sold the damn car before it was even detailed, but had me in twice more to tell me about their 2021 GTS. This is after a similar issue a few weeks ago where a GT1 was still having its vinyl wrap removed and had a deposit put down before i can even see the car! And between those 2, I had another GT1(all of these CPO and within 100 miles of me) sell the day i get the carfax and make plans to see it the following day. IM NOT EVEN WORKING RIGHT NOW!!! With Covid, i had done most of my reaching out via email and not in person, but ive been pressing the flesh now and even that isnt working! All dealerships, that ive reached out to within 48 hours of the listing hitting 3rd party sites; sometimes without pictures even! I've been doing my due diligence and staying patient, but this old fart of a salesman has screwed me out of a great local find, and im worried my trade in is gonna shit the bed any day now. I have to tell myself it wasnt the color i wanted and that more and more Leases will be coming back. Im just very frustrated and sick of trying to compromise on color options, to only still get BONED!

My recommendation would be to sell to a dealership, usually at trade in prices or sell to a private party.

That will make things much easier if you're searching for something hard to find. You will no longer be limited to an area that you are comfortable driving your trade in vehicle to.

Once you get the car sold you can widen your search area and then fly out and drive the car back. (If you're willing to fly, that is)

This is a strange tale of woe: Stingers being sold to others before you can even lay eyes on them? But can you blame the dealers? A sale right now is worth two "promises of interest" tomorrow. :P

You think because you're not working, car dealerships should take a hit?

It might come as a surprise, but their business is down these days as well. Not to mention, every vehicle they have on their lot has lost significant value.

No, i think im available 24/7 and this old man of a salesman screwed me by not calling me on the weekend when the car was first available! Let me shed a single tear for these huge companies. I guess my used car value hasnt taken a hit as well? I'm doing everything right and still getting screwed. If i was a dick, i could have thrown a fit today and made them sell it to ME cause i was there and the other party wasnt!

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Well I'm frustrated too. I'm trying to work with 3 dealers and 1 is impossible to reach today, 1 told me MSRP or get out, and 1 is having a lot of trouble budging from the 5% dealer discount posted online.

The thought of buying a car based on the "Great Deal!" price advertised online feels anathema to me. These cars have been on their lots since January. MSRP?? What is she smoking? She practically hung up on me when I said "That's insane!"
