Genesis G70

Good to know. It was an MY18 with like $3k miles that was a demo. They were asking MSRP... they said even the head honcho of Genesis wanted a 3.3T G80 but couldn’t get one! Of course this makes no sense. I decided to move on at that point. Plus, per the Genesis forums the G80s get horrible MPG.

Well, ever since Genesis stopped shipments of all 2018MY (basically the G80 and G90) in April (production also had stopped at that time and switched over to the 2019MY), there has been a low supply of models, esp. the G80 Sport, so not surprising that the dealer in question was asking for MSRP (which was stupid, b/c even long Genesis G80 owners wouldn't pay MSRP).

W/ the 2019MY trickling in (to the Genesis dealerships that have obtained their license), dealerships which have any leftover 2018MY should be willing to deal now.

Altho the dealerships which are not getting Genesis stores may not deal as much as they won't be getting anymore (but that would be silly as eventually, there will be good deals on the 2019's).

Man...those Aussies...first they neuter the Commodore and now they delay the G70. :) Next thing you know they'll get rid of Tooheys Old and replace it with New. Madness, I say! :)

Cheers!
Hahaha Tooheys Old & New not my choice but still available, but Great Northern is not bad, judging by your comment you had an Old or two.

Heh...yeah, I used to live in Syd for a while. Still my favorite large city on the planet. I'd move back tomorrow if I could make anything close to the same living there. :)

Cheers!

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Nice, how long ago were you in Sydney? wages are quite high here & depends on your skill set, but so is the cost of living, it horrendous.

It's been about 16 years, though I've been back for visits a few times. I lived and worked in Pyrmont which was a bit dodgy at the time, but must have gentrified into quite an expensive area by now. I hear that Baron's finally closed. An institution! :)

Yes, Sydney has changed a lot, so much construction, too much traffic & too many people, I live 50kms west of the CBD & it’s madness to get anywhere, cannot wait to retire & get out to somewhere quieter.

It's really not that much more.

Plus, the G70's interior is a good bit more luxurious (and has features the USDM Stinger is missing right now) and has more sophisticated suspension bits, along w/ more aluminum parts (to cut weight).

On top of that, for the price, the Genesis has all the service amenities (loaners, valet service, free maintenance, etc.) included, altho for certain buyers, it's something they wouldn't miss or don't want to pay for.

What the Stinger has is more room and a fastback body-style (and in my eyes) better sheetmetal.

What does the G70 have that the 2019 Stingers don't? I thought 2019 added in all those missing features. I also haven't heard of any difference in suspension between the two, what is the difference?

I'm a bit disappointed the prices are almost identical, the only advantage the Stinger has over the G70 is the base GT model, it's still the cheapest way to get the 3.3TT by a good margin.

The exterior of the G70 looks good! I just think it looks really generic, the Stinger looks like something special.

I think the G70 has the suede headliner in the upper trims

^^^^^ I forgot to look up when I sat in it. darn

I've already seen more G70 ads in the last few weeks than Stinger ads since it's launch - and Kia commercials still don't show the Stinger in vehicle line ups. I won't be surprised to see the G70 outsell the Stinger by a large margin if Hyundai/Genesis actually makes an effort to sell the thing and dealers have the inventory.

That grill style is partly why I didn't pursue the RC-F back when I was looking at M- and AMG- cars. Don't like it.

I do like the quilted leather but not sure I like it more than what I have..
