General G-Max RS vs Mich PS4 +wheel setup

So I'm going to be upgrading my wheel package this year and I'm looking for an alternative tire to the Mich PS4.

Firestone Indy 500's come up as well as the General G-Max RS. I think between the two, most tests and many opinions favor the General slightly and they're also currently a touch cheaper (vs Indy500).

My question are for the RWD Stinger GT owners out there (as I'm RWD) that are running the Generals and what their impressions of the tire are (grip from a dig and road manners).

I'm still on OE 19's with the factory PS4s. Current mods include BMS intakes, JB4 on Map2, Denso plugs and an MBRP CBE. In warmer weather, I can pretty much hook up with the 255 wide PS4s from a dig using launch control but I'm pretty certain as the tires wear (wearing fast!) that will taper.

I plan on going with Rohana RX5 wheels: 19x8.5 +35 fronts and 19x9.5 +38 rears for their low weight (22lbs and 23lbs respectively).

Tire sizes I plan to run are 245/40/19 fronts, and 275/35/19 rears. Overall tire/wheel package is about 0.54" taller than stock and ARK lowering springs will be used. The drop and taller wheel setup should help close the gap some and not excessively impact ride height too much.

I've looked at 20" wheel options with the RFX5's as well as Ferrada F8-FR8's and while they're still "lighter" than the OE 19's, it's still about 12-14 lbs heavier overall. It's rotational mass so even that little bit will still effect steering, braking and acceleration.

All that said, I'm open to listen to any suggestions anyone may have.
 
If you have boiled it down to these two, the performance levels are fairly equivalent. A track would be needed to truly show differences between these two. That being said, go for the things like treadwear, price, any warranties, road-hazard resistance, etc. I currently run the Indy 500s on my Stinger GT and have been pleased with them. I can source them locally and the shop I frequent offers lifetime balance and alignment. I am sure the Generals are fine tires as well.
 
I did read some people that had experience with both were able to get more mileage out of the Generals vs the Indy500. I just want to make sure I can launch from a dig and not be at a total loss and spinning tires. lol.

Case in point, I also own a 2011 Genesis Coupe 3.8 Track that's tuned with bolt ons. Makes 300whp and 276wtrq. The OE Bridgestones are crazy expensive and I've done really really well with Hankook Evo 12 V2's. Fantastic grip for the torque this engine dishes out, low noise and decent life (25k miles a set). Turn in isn't quite as "tight" as the Bridgestone but it's a small sacrifice I can deal with for the price.

But I'm pretty certain the Hankook V12 Evo2's would not give me off the line traction I'd need with the stinger and the 450-500wtrq it's pushing, even with a wider tire and proper alignment.

I think the Generals or the Firestones are my best bet. It's definitely priced reasonably.

I picked the Indys because they were quite literally HALF the price of the Michelins with 85% of the performance. Do you have a particular reason for wanting to get away from the Michelins? If cost were no object, I would buy the PS4s in a heartbeat, they are a great tire. However, since cost is an object, the torque of these cars just eats up rear tires so much that I'd be broke putting Michelins on all of the time. BTW, I had two Genesis coupes and enjoyed them but the Stinger is a far better car. I hope you enjoy yours!
 
I'm also looking at tires and the Generals came up since I've had those on before with another vehicle and they did well. A little on the noisy side after about 5k miles, but they were rock solid. The G37 I had it on was not close in the torque this car has, so I've been looking at people's experience with them as well. Was thinking about the hankooks too, I've always had good experiences with those. Curious as to why you don't think they would get you good off the line traction?

Cost is absolutely a factor, lol. They're the best but I just can't afford to buy these tires especially in a larger size.
I'm hoping that a wider 285 or 275 General would be enough grip. And yes I agree, the Stinger is a "better" car but I still love my BK1. It's more visceral working 3 pedals and shifting my own gears. Also a very different driving experience having to wind out the V6 to 7k in order to wring out every bit of hp vs the mountains of torque the Stinger's twin turbo has at super low RPMs. They're polar opposite really and it's great having both cars.

It's sticky, don't get me wrong but according to testing from Tire Rack, the General and Firestone are said to be even stickier. If I was AWD, I think Hankooks would be fine, but being RWD, I'm going to need the stickiest tire I can afford. lol.

Yes, I got curious and looked up some professional reviews and all said the gmax was a really sticky tire for its price point. Might go with these too...
