Gauge pods are here!!!!!!

That's my point. Modern multi gauges like p3 are the way to go. Gauge pods of Any kind scream Honda circa y2k

Why dont someone reach out to them and see if they will make one?

I had this on my old mazdaspeed 6. Thought it looked pretty slick. Wouldn't mind something similar again in the stinger. Guy named block8head or something custom molded them using an OEM vent

I did back early last year. I think they needed 20 confirmed orders to start development.

Put them on today. Fit pretty good. Did the job myself. The top clip was a nasty little thing trying to get it off.

I asked the dealer about fitting it and they seem to not want to do it. Not sure why but I know I saved money. Im thinking about wrapping it with fabric to match to inside also. I'll take a pic of that also.

Isn't there an airbag under there? I doubt any dealer would touch that install if that was the case.

Not sure if the idea would work on the Stinger but this type of cluster gauge pod always seemed nice and classy.

Yes the air bag is right there. Kinda scary but I didnt even touch it. Btw i do like that cluster idea.

It's not the installation that's especially dangerous it's the fact that they likely become projectiles when airbags deploy.

Would be nice to see some different gauge mounting options. I think the platform would support it eventually.

Happy with my Banks Power idash 1.8. Super configurable and can customize a shift light.:)

Do you man 20 orders or 20 vent gauges? Those 3 in the middle could be 3 seperate orders. If you want to push for those, im also in. jcspods made it seem like that might do it if enough requested. Only reason they did the 3 pillar was because they claimed I was the first to ask.

If there is anything that I've learned recently, it's that there are definitely people out there that are looking for good quality products for their stingers.
I think the K8 Stinger Store was a little overwhelmed with the recent response when they said the CANBUS Control Module would be available real soon.
They said they would have 50 in the initial batch and then like 100 people immediately came out saying gimme gimme gimme. I have a feeling that they are trying to triple or quadruple their initial run right now.

so if someone hits you in the side, you're going to have to contend with a gauge pod in your face at 200 mph? lovely
Only if your sitting up in the window driving. If you just pay attention to your surrounding, you might avoid being hit from the side.

What???? So you're saying you know what trajectory the pods are going to take when in various accident situations?
You are adding a significant amount of mass to the pillar cover with the gauges installed. Will the forces of a head-on vs side impact dislodge the whole cover at impact or will it hinge as it would as the stock cover is designed?
If it hinges will the gauges contact the windshield, decreasing the available opening for the side airbag? Will the side airbag deploy correctly given the possibility of reduced space?
If the airbag blows the pod cover right off where will it go? At the driver? At the passenger? To some safe place?
Will the wiring connecting the gauges change the course of the trajectory and swing it in an unexpected manor?

Do what you want, there are plenty of people that add A-Pillar gauges to modern airbag equipped vehicles. I just don't think that saying "pay attention to your surroundings" is a surefire method of staying safe and free from accidents or flying gauge pods.

Lol. I'm not saying that the pillar isnt going to hit you but it was easier for the top to pop off and the bottom slides in the dash. That might not make any sense in everyones head but it does in my simple head. Haha. The pillar is made of the same material so at best, its going to hurt. I do see the gauges cracking the windshield though. From Doels comment, i took it as just being funny and cute. My response was just being cute back. The only way to avoid a crash is not to drive. I've never bought an item for my car and thought about how its going to feel when I crash or get hit. Personally that would be exhausting and I would just buy a cheap car and weld a roll cage in it. Haha

I did some research because of the saftey of the issue. So far ive noticed that side airbags deploy but the pillar is still there. I have this pic of another vehicle. I know someone that has a stinger and wrecked it. I'll ask him also to clarify.

Yeah the pillar cover is meant to pivot open and allow the airbag to deploy back into the cabin.

I went looking for actual images of vehicles with A-pillar gauges that had been in an accident. I found nothing. Just a bunch of forum banter between the uber safety conscious, some that say that they would love to eat gauges in an accident, and everything in between.

I know what mean, everything you do is a calculated risk. We all have different thresholds that we are comfortable with.
