My 2020 GT1 feels very responsive in sports mode which I friggin love! All the other modes seem really laggy, it seems as if it takes forever to get up to speed. I wish all the other modes were just as responsive as Sport Mode, the reason for not always going sports mode is because I think it uses more fuel than the other modes? Please correct me if i’m wrong. I live in California, so not a lot of upgrade freedoms, does anyone have an idea or advice for this problem? Thank you..
Racechip XLR Throttle Responder, Windboost, Pedal Commander. They all increase the throttle response. I have the Racechip XLR and it's like being in Sport mode all the time.

The racechip xlr isnt a chip, it's just a throttle response tuner made by a company called racechip. I have a BMS pedal tuner and it totally solves the issue you have. Basically they all do the same thing and one of the following should make you a happy man:
Pedal Commander
BMS pedal tuner (back ordered due to covid)
Windbooster
Racechip XLR
Sprint Booster

Your OP points out the reason for Sport and Custom modes. You can enjoy the response that you want, and also combine them. I drive 99% of the time in Custom. Until recently I had everything but engine and trans set to Sport; the engine and trans are in Eco; the steering I put in Comfort recently and haven't felt any difference whatsoever between it and Sport, so, haven't switched it back to Sport. The difference between Sport and Eco throttle response is minimal if you get on the gas like I do: I like a bit of a rolling start before I mash it to the kickdown switch. My method is to engage c. half throttle as the light goes green, which takes me to c. the middle of the intersection, then mash it; response is instantaneous, even in Eco. I'm not trying to set some kind of record for zero to sixty. And I do not race. But I love to let NAV stretch her legs once in a while, aka getting a good dig in. Simply FUN.

I have a 2020 GT2 and I have 5 modes: Smart, Eco, Normal, Sport and Custom. Custom is what I would recommend you look at. In my car, my Custom mode is set to be just like Normal but with the throttle mapping of Sport.
As for the various "throttle response" products, I would suggest that you save your money and purchase anything else. You can do the exact same thing to your car with your foot that those products do.
I would recommend the JB4. You can change the tune from stock to performance and it can be installed to look completely factory to pass inspection.
