Gas door on wrong side...

Is that Panthera Metal paint in that picture? It sure is purty:)

Yes, it's Panthera gray. For my tastes it's the best looking color for this vehicle. The black chrome accents fit better with this color, as do the wheels for that matter, everything is just pulled in tightly--even in gas station lighting. ;)

All cars I ever owned (Skodas, BMWs) had it on the passenger side :P

so here's a fact in 80% of all cases:
If the car manufacturer comes from a left hand drive County, it's on the right hand side
If the car manufacturer comes from a right hand drive County, it's on the left hand side

that's why all BMW, Audi ...(european) car guy's think it's in the wrong side ;)

Did you mean the reverse? Germany drives on the same side as the US, and Korea, as does all of Europe aside from the UK.

Couldn't disagree more with the OP. I'd had cars both ways, and having the filler on the driver's side is the best. It's easier to maneuver up to gas pumps, easier to stay under the cover of the station's awning and out of the weather, and you don't have to walk around to the opposite side of the car to fill it. Add to that the danger in some places of someone darting into your car (car-jacking) while you're clear around on the opposite side.

Nope, the driver's side is the best side.

Are you leaving your keys in the car while pumping gas? With keyless entry now the most they are going to get is a comfy seat until they realize they can’t do anything or the cops show up.

An additional safety consideration for the car manufacturers is protection from traffic when refueling from a portable container at the side of the road - e.g. after running out of gas. Standing on the live traffic side of the car beside a busy highway is a dangerous place to be, and on that point certainly favors a passenger side filler location for either LHD or RHD cars.

However, the abundance of drivers side gas fillers (my preferred location) shows that it's not their primary concern when designing the car ...

This is hilarious. You are just discovering now that cars have filling ports on either side, depending on country of origin (which side the steering wheel is on) or other factors, including just preference of the designer/engineers? It didn't occur to you every time you enter a filling station and see the variety of cars pointing in both directions or going to one side of the two-sided pumps versus the other?

I've never had a car with passenger side fill up, still have issues getting in and out of the carparking close to pumps. But even if you park far up, all pumps have long hoses that will reach over to the passenger side if needed. Don't worry much about it, just enjoy the car.

I daresay your fob is close enough while you're pumping gas that someone could jump in your car and start it and drive off.

They could also grab something (laptop, phone, etc.) out of your seat and run.

If you're clear on the other side of your car, you'd have trouble getting them before they get your stuff.

I don't think it would allow someone to drive unless it detects the fob within a certain proximity to the seat or to the push-start button.

2 of the 3 vehicles I have are on the drivers side: Stinger and Veloster Turbo. The WRX is on the passenger side. It doesn't really matter to me in the least.

Or you can move to NJ where we don’t pump our own gas. This puts the driver closer to the attendant asking what you would like. This is the appropriate side. Lol

I LOVE that color! I'm just waiting for the 2019's hoping that I can get a GT2 AWD in this Panthera Grey with a red interior. Your car looks beautiful in that lighting.
