• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

What does everyone think of the new Genesis G70 compared to the Stinger. Reviews are saying it has more refined handling but costs about 10 grand more. It’s not a bad looking car.

No hatch, no buy. It's a nice looking car (grill is a little loud), a few hundred pounds lighter, decent interior (I like the kia's better) and a touch faster. But I gotta have that hatch. Once you go hatch, you can't go... bach.

A lot of knockers of the Stinger say it is too expensive for a KIA, so what will they say for $80000 AUD for essentially a Hyundai. Probably be the biggest hurdle in sales over here. The interior is nice and I don't mind the 'loud' grill.

It's too expensive, in the US the Stinger and G70 are priced about the same, here the $10k+ price differential is too hard to swallow.

That's possibly because even though essentially they are very similar machines with the same drivetrain, the G70 is supposed to be the more luxurious model and hence the price increase. (over here anyway.)

Yes, but a higher price alone does not make it a luxury vehicle. I wrote to Genesis and expressed as much.

I suppose Genesis believes the public will buy into this luxury badge business as per Lexus/Infiniti customers.

It's a very nice car, all the overseas reviews are very positive, just a shame that I think they've got their pricing model wrong here.

Boring car

I would have got g70 if I could have lived with a smaller car (smaller trunk and rear passenger space) but not for 10k more, may be for similar or lesser price. Only other downside is exterior look which I don't care about much.

Along with missing a hatch, shockingly less leg room in the G70. Otherwise, I love it.

I test drove the G70 before going with the stinger. G70 is a great car, bit more nimble due to its shorter body. Come with the LSD in the sport trim. Interior is a step up on the Kia. Plastics are softer, quilted Nappa leather. The exterior is a bit more sedate for sure, more of a 3 series feel.

At least in Canada Hyundai is dealing with their Genesis dealers operating out of Hyundai dealerships by making sure you never actually have to go their.I booked a test drive online and the rep showed up at my office with the car. Their concierge 5 year included maintenance means again. I visits to the dealership. Interesting way to try and separate the Luxury brand from the Hyundai dealerships until the Genesis SUVs start rolling and they have their own dealerships.

But damn it’s small inside, like Audi A3 small. I’m 6’ and I could not sit in the backseat behind the drivers seat set for myself. Even my wife’s knees were rubbing on the seat when sitting behind me. I’m the end the looks outside and the extra room in the back and the hatch put me in the Stinger.

I love the G70, but is too small for this stage of my life (growing kids). Oh yeah, the hatch of the stinger is so damn handy! The stinger looks a tad more sporty from most angles too.

Carsales Australia today. G70 Ultimate Sport $90023 drive away. That is at least $20000 more than a top spec Stinger GT. Big money.

Why would you bother, overpriced & smaller than the Stinger but essentially they share the same drive train & technology.

I bought the G70 3.3t AWD and here in Canada it was actually less expensive compared to the Stinger at the time I purchased... Odd that the G70 is priced so high for the Australian market... In terms of comparing the cars, I don't bother. They are both Awesome. They simply target different needs but deliver great cars with similar characteristics. I really like the Stinger and always give a thumbs up if I pass one.
