So, I spent the cash because I finally sourced a Genesis G70 front crash beam/absorber. Install is pretty straight forward: remove front bumper skin, remove crash bar, install G70 bar, replace bumper skin. However, there are several differences between the Stinger beam and the Genesis version. While the weight savings is true, 4 lbs. probably isn't worth $500 to most folks. The Genesis version is aluminized steel and the brackets are better quality. However, the collision sensor bracket for the Stinger is shorter and doesn't line up with the bolt hole, the ambient temperature sensor mount is totally different and...the tow hook bung does not line up with our bumper access panel. Oh, I did have to Dremel one hole to allow the proper mounting of the beam...that could just be a manufacturing variance, but who knows.
