Future Stinger owner - perhaps, maybe - says hello and asks

Yeah, my wife is my guardian of reason ;) I'm from Poland.
As are all of us married men...lol, no sure but you may be our first Polish member, G’day & welcome aboard.

Fuel costs and the type of roads you drive may determine the engine choice. The 3.3T is fun, but it's not the most fuel-efficient way to fly.

I use my stinger as a daily driver and family road trip car. So far super happy fun yet practical w kids and dogs.
Plenty of room in trunk its massive.
For dogs, remove the trunk cover (it hangs by 2 ropes and 2 supports) and u have suv like trunk space, and can also put a dog bed in back. My dog has a cushion in trunk, we remove trunk cover. Dog is happy and comfortable. May not work well with really tall dogs tho..

i also didnt recognize the flag. get the 2.0 i know gas prices are higher in europe, both the mrs and i have family overseas, all over the place and are amazed at the fuel costs elsewhere. have you checked out the diesel model? i think that there are a couple of members from england on the forum who own the diesel version. i think.

Yes, the gas prices can be shocking for someone from the US :) I think that we also get a higher price depending on the engine size. Diesel is also a risky option since there are more and more voices about banning diesel vehicles in some of the European cities . I prefer the petrol engines (also diesel is also more expensive to buy, obviously then it will be cheaper to use in the long run), but thanks for the suggestion. I will try and check out the forum posts about this version as well.

I can confirm that I drove both cars- with and without sunroof - and both of them were considerably quite. So I'm sure there's no deference what so ever. I'm with @Ucinn that the salesman wanted you to buy from his stock.

I agree. If you look at the sunroof, it fits flush with the roofline with no "trim" or extended bezels to interrupt airflow. Wind noise over a flat surface like that would be (should be) much less than noise from mirrors and side door glass.

Not sure how common, but my sun roof has some noises comming from the sun roof frame weather opened or closed. Might be the same sound as someone described from the A pillar? The noise is mild but that being the only odd noise makes it noticable.

Your wife can drive the 3.3L in "Eco" or "Comfort" mode, and use the automatic transmission. That would tone down the power a lot, unless she puts her boot in it and engages the turbos by dropping two or three gears, RIGHT NOW.

$17K difference between a 2.0 and a 3.3? Unbelievable! In the US the price for the Premium 2.0L and the GT1 with a 3.3L is almost the same. The entire price range difference between the basic Stinger and the GT2 top trim is c. $20K.

Sunroof: flush with roofline, no noise whatsoever possible to generate on exposed edges. And if anyone is hearing "wind" through the seals, they are also going to get wet. I don't believe it.

I think that the issue is that we have only one available configuration of 3.3 - with absolutely everything. There is no base model or any other specs to choose from. I will wait for the next year, maybe there will be more choice.

Must be a European or country limitation. Three 3.3T trim levels in the U.S. (GT, GT1, GT2).

I am always envious when it comes to car prices in the US.... From where I come from, The GT Line (2.0) is priced at US$131k whereas GT (3.3) is at $160K so it's a difference of $30k. So far, we have GT Line as base and the top trim GT. No other trim options.

And, GT trim needs 3-4 months waiting time as there is no ready stock. :(

In the US "they" don't even call the 2.0 a "GT"; it is a Stinger or Stinger Premium.

Interesting KIA marketing literature around the world....

and, it comes with a "GTLine" emblem at the back as well...

Marcinaldo: I’ve had my Stinger for more than 3 months now. My wife and I find the car very comfortable and quiet. The sunroof hasn’t added any road noise and is a nice option when the weather permits some open air operation. It’s smartly designed and works excellently. With the sliding cover closed - noticeable radiated heat bleed through is minimal. As for car dealers: quite often the MO is to sell you what they have on the lot.. or convince you that what they have IS what you want. You can assemble the car you want from the website, then put one or more dealers to work to find that car for you. That worked well for me. Good luck! It’s an awesome car. db
