Quick question, Is the fuel pump replacement common? How many miles did you go until needing a new fuel pump? Just curious.

I guess we are the only ones....

What did it feel like before it went?

It had turbo issues from what I got from the service records.....(previous owner had all the problems)....when they replaced the turbo and test drove , they changed the fuel pump.
I put almost 1,000 miles on her so far with no issue's ....but the static gear shift logic and the trunk were recalled and worked on.

Thanks - probably in my head - but last two days there were one or two instances of slight hesitation; one when the start stop kicked in to start the engine, and one in slow rush hour traffic. 3.3GT2AWD btw

yeah, mines a 2.0.....another reason I took the smaller engine....less chance of shit going wrong, lol

I just got my fuel pump and fuel line replaced for the same reason. Running a lot better, however, I still notice a slight hesitation when I accelerate. I will give it more time to see if it gets worse, then take it back in.

All stingers have a ''lag'' issue.....it's a turbo thing, hence the launch control feature....it bolsters the system for a lag free launch, imho.

I didn’t know that. Good to know. Aside from the lag time which I can deal with, jerking while I try to accelerate is not normal, I don’t think. And 9 out 10 times it happens when the engine stop- go feature is turned on. Also, if I try to accelerate while in sport mode the engine shuts off and restarts again (did that more before the fuel pump and fuel line replacement) now similar thing happens but very subtle. Now it just jerks when I slow down and try to lightly accelerate (such as in stop go traffic) I will drive it a few more days and see if it gets better or worse . If it gets worse I definitely plan to have it looked at again. Thanks for the feedback.

The car needs a ''shift gear logic ''update from the dealer....free of charge

Any hesitation, stuttering, cutoff/out, etc., would drive me bonkers and I'd have the car back in yesterday: not wait for it to smooth out or get worse on its own! My .02 worth.

My post was a ''off the top of my head'' post,btw.........no one knows til they plug it in.

The only reason I’m waiting to take it to the dealership sooner is because I work next few days (actually nights) and I can’t take it in until I’m off. So I guess I’m being optimistic about the problem getting better. I’m just really annoyed . I guess that’s what happens when I buy the first released stinger models. I had the same experience when I bought my Grand Cherokee in 2015 , it was the new model out and the transmission went at 2k miles.

Well, that’s debatable. Lol. Some of these “ mechanics “ or “tech” whatever you wanna call them can be melon heads. Wouldn’t know what to look for if an error code didn’t pop up. According to some, no error code, no problem.

Hell yes.

I don't make direct comparisons of the Stinger with any other first year models. For two reasons: it is not a sudden, flash in the pan project that got pushed on the public; rather it is a well considered/conceived, developed and produced car: almost all of the things that could go wrong were "bred" out of it during development and testing. And the second reason is, any of these incidents, like yours, are very rare. The paint and some noise issues seem to be the only commonly occurring problems: and even these are in the small minority. The way you describe your engine hesitation issue is unique. I've read on here in the last nearly half a year of tranny problems, brakes ("warped" rotors and various complaints about noise), interior flaws, sound system fubars, upholstery wearing quickly, this or that feature not seeming to operate properly, etc. In each case the complaint is a very rare, even singular, one. With over 5K members on the forum, the number of issues is very small indeed; especially for a first year model. I am confident that your very annoying drivetrain behavior is going to be resolved in short order.

You definitely are right about my issues being unique. According to the dealership I am the only one with a stinger in the dc metro area that they are aware of with this issue ( this was with the last repair of my fuel pump and fuel line). Cheers to being unique . I have no doubt they will eventually figure it all out ( it will eventually cost more to keep repairing the car , than give me a new one ...lol)

My car ran the gamut of recalls and everything else it seems, 'cept for the warped rotors....I been lucky in that regard.....but soon as I can get my hands on an upgrade.......I'll be on it like white on rice!!

( it also had the fuel line ,pump replaced)

Hopefully, the dealership had you sitting on something somewhat decent while your stinger was getting all doctored up.
