Frequent driver odometer today

So what should i do to convert my 87 to 91? Just burn off the rest and put in 91 directly next fuel tank? And what would synthetic lifetime be?
Don't worry about octane. Anything 87 and up is good. If you mixed 87 with 91, you'd just end up with "midgrade". :D

I've never used synthetic in my vehicles. But I've read what those who swear by it say; and I've read assertions up to twelve years, and even the assertion that if your oil keeps coming out clear to amber on the dipstick it can last indefinitely; just keep it topped up. (Nobody with a Stinger has said that. :)) And being a GDI engine I wouldn't begin to entertain the notion that synthetic lasts that long in a Stinger. But easily 6K miles at a minimum.

The only problem with going longer than recommended is that warranty has to follow the manual and service periods. And Kia has said cut the recommended 6K miles per oil/filter change to 3K for "severe" driving conditions; and the manual lists what those are. Utah is a "severe" climate because in winter our roads are salted down. But that's only for a couple to three months max. The rest of the year we are paradisiacal. :D So anything between 3K and 5K for an oil change should be good.

If the dealer says yes, then we are covered. If you want to know if synthetic changes what the manual and service periods should be (i.e. increases the miles/months between), the only "authority" will be the Kia service center.

14 days in, just cleared the 1,000 mile mark.

Enjoying this car like you can't believe. I usually trade cars every year or so, but I'm thinking this one's a keeper.

Are they giving you full synthetic, blend or conventional with your free changes?

Mobile 1 5w30 Synthetic Blend is what they use.

I am at 6000 miles now, i did first oil change at 1500 miles. Will do next two at 4500 miles interval then after 20k mile change settle at oil change every 5k miles.

I think 5k is good number as it will be easier to remember, if I am little late I have flexibility that I won't exceed 6k miles and shorter (up to 3k, shorter than that is money pit) oil changes are (marginally) better.

I use mobil1 extended performance 5W30, a very good fit for the car and temp requirements.

Just curious why you are changing the oil so frequently, do you drive your car under extreme temperatures and other conditions?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Sorry I think you misunderstood me. I wanted to do first oil change at 1,000 miles. But since i was away, I did it at 1,500 miles. I wanted following ones to be multiple of 5k but thought 3.5k interval is too short. So I decided 4.5k for next 3. So I would end up doing oil changes at 1.5k, 6k, 10.5k, 15k, 20k, 25k, 30k, 35k, 40k....
