• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Has anyone tried to fit air horns to their Stinger, interested in brands, where they are fitted and who fitted them if you didn't? Oh, and are you happy with them?

can i ask, why would you need or want an air horn on a stinger?

Not looking for Trucker air horns, I had a car set fitted to a car 10 years ago because the horn was little more than a buzzer..

With folks running air-cons with all the windows up and modern sound proofing, it could not be heard.

If you tell me the Stinger has a nice trumpet, then they may not be needed.

The "find my car" horn is pitiful. But the two-tone horn is acceptable, in my humble opinion.

The Stinger has a horn that you'll probably like well enough - similar to a lot of American cars and trucks. Not the "weaker" sounding, higher-pitched horns that a lot of Korean and Japanese cars have.

Someone should video their horn so I can see what it sounds like lol

I think things are getting a little out of control here lol.

If you want something louder but not air horns, try a pair of Stebel Magnum 136db horns ( buy on ebay )

I've fitted a pair of them to just about every car I've owned ( and the wife's cars ).

If that's not loud enough for you here's another option a friend of mine installed.

Those Train horns are a bit of over kill, I have a kit left over, because it did not fit in the old car, hence my questions.

Those train horns were NOT fitted to a Stinger. They went on a 93 Ford Fairmont Ghia V8. We modified the whole set-up a bit and wound up with only the 2 larger horns. Absolutely scares the $hit out people when they go off. Want that idiot in the Audi to know he's cutting you off ?? "Check"
I think I laughed for about 15mins the first time he used them with me in the car.

I've used my horn on numerous occasions and it seems reasonably sufficient. Bicycles would have louder horns than my Renault daily driver though.

BTW: I go gentle on the horn, because I see it a road rage invoker, but there are the rare occasions where people don't see you and you need to make your presence felt.

Electric will give a faster response than air.

It's a terrible horn. It sounds like a mouse which makes no sense for a 400 horsepower GT machine. I will be ordering a new one and changing it out this week!

I will attempt to do that before I change it out!
Your description sounds broken. :D My Stinger's horn sounds fine. Welcome to the forum too.

I will film the horn before I change it. I don't usually go around filming everything I do, hence, "attempt". I have plenty of other things to do.
