Reading that article, got me thinking. Are they working on turning KIA into the Korean equivalent of BMW? Now before folks get testy over that statement, keep in mind that the BMW we know today had to start somewhere and any good company that wants to survive and grow has to makes changes to make it happen. I recall reading an article about how BMW basically paid a bunch of Ford's racing engineers to come over to them and make their cars drive better, which got them started on their way to being what they are today. We know in the past 10 plus years, Hyundai/KIA/Genesis has pulled in a lot of top talent to help them design and engineer their products to be better. What will the next 10 years bring?
I have noticed a change since the introduction of the 2016+ Sorento, Optima, Cadenza and Sportage, that they have been improving their vehicle's interior quality, noise level and ride/handling characteristics. The Stinger was the first shot at a sporty KIA. We all know they could have done better but having the G70 out there in the wings made them not make it as great as it could be. The G70 so far has impressed the press, if only they can get some selling here soon, then I am sure a lot of folks looking for more performance and luxury will make the jump. For me though, the Stinger is my thing and seeing some of what the future holds, I'll have to look into the Stinger mid-cycle refresh if it brings more things that I want to the car.
