Feature disparity (from Interesting Discoveries Thread)

Not much else to do in the frozen North this time of year except complain ;)
Actually Mark, I am having a great deal of fun driving my car in the snow now being able to get it to drift and slide with the command of the throttle.

My complaints are not with the car that I own but more the struggle I have with the marketing decisions of the Manufacturer.

My biggest complaint is why do US customers get a ten year guaranty and we only get five. Same car. Same manufacturing plant and yet KIA as with Hyundia chooses to invest 50% less confidence in the vehicles they sell in Canada versus the US.

Where is the logic in that decision?

Contrary to responses to my initial post, I did a bucket load of research on the car prior to my purchase. Non of my criticisms prevented me from pulling the trigger.

Having said that, my bewilderment with Kia's marketing strategies remains alive a well.

Oh Ya.

Too many quizzical decisions to list in one message.

From the sounds of your comments I get the feeling that if you had done your homework on the car prior to purchasing it you may have gone a different route with car ownership.
Always intrigues me that people go out spend a bucket load of cash on a car only to hate it because it does have this & doesn’t do that....only if I knew this before I purchased it...really are you angry at Kia or with your purchase that doesn’t fit your needs/requirements.
Sorry & generally speaking here, I just don’t get all the negativity towards YOUR choice to own this car.
My disappointment is not with the car as a whole.
It is with Kia and their far too often illogical corporate decisions.
Don't forget us Canucks are boarder with the US with over 80% of our populous living within a short 300 mile distance from the US.
As such, we as with our US cousins down south, often struggle to find understanding and justifications of so very often what appear to be decisions devoid of common sense or logic.

Similar curious question exist for us US customers...

Why do the Canadians get the app remote start?

Why does south park treat y’all so cruel?

Why do you put mayo on burgers? (Like this is really all I really need to understand)?

How horrible, I feel so bad for you guys. I guess you'll just have to go home and cry into a giant wad of plastic monopoly money worth around $19,000 CAD because that's how much cheaper your GT Limited is than our GT2, and you get extra features.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

No one said you weren't worse off. The point here is illogical and unnecessary differentiation across national markets to the detriment of all of us. But yes, some worse than others. Personally, I would not have taken a US Stinger. The Canadian one has enough issues for the money, though the basic engineering and design is solid. All the issues are marketing-related. And therefore doubly frustrating because they are self-inflicted wounds for KIA, who should know better by now.

I'm sure part of the reason the cost of the Canadian Stinger is so much lower than the US model is due to the warranty difference. That is something they take into account when they come up with the MSRP.
