Has anyone tried setting everything in the custom drive mode up as sport and then compared 0-60 with the only variable being the awd setting? I'm wondering whether sport 80/20 would be faster than comfort 50/50 power split.
You just floor it from a dead stop?I get quicker times without launch control and i have RWD only
Interesting question. Why would you want to know? Sport is the only drive mode that launch control is meant to operate in. Custom set to Sport would be the same thing as Sport. If you play around with a "diluted" Sport mode by selecting other than Sport in one or more areas in Custom, expect launch control to go flabby or not work at all.
Good question, but pretty certain Sport mode 80/20 would be quicker since AWDs disadvantage vs RWD is drivetrain power loss.Has anyone tried setting everything in the custom drive mode up as sport and then compared 0-60 with the only variable being the awd setting? Since 80/20 AWD doesn’t loose traction 50/50 would just cause more power to be transferred to the front wheels, meaning more drivetrain HP loss.
There is a reason it’s called Sport mode, as that would optimize all settings for maximum performance.
Hope this helps and happy motoring.![]()
Has anyone tested this further- specifically those that launch on boost?Sorry to bring a 2yr old thread back to life, but i was also curious about having all custom set to sport except AWD and putting that in comfort to get more power to wheels? I think i am gonna hit up a 1/4 mi track this weekend and try both. The biggest variant IMO is AIT, depending how long i wait in the queue the higher that goes up and can skew results.
I did 4 runs at a 1/8 mile 2 on map2, 2 on map3. I didnt think of the above, but my last 2 i ran map 3 with 93 and octane booster, and my 2nd map 3 had wheel spin when the throttle went wide open at ~20mph which i had never experienced prior....and that run had higher AIT than previos. Curious if AWD set to eco wouldve improved the last go, but hindsight is as they say
I can't say I've tried that specifically, but I found autohold, at least for me, works better than launch control or brake boosting. I'm awd and stock tune with just intake and catback and can hit 4.0 fairly consistently in cold weather. I just quickly (but not instantly) push the pedal to full Throttle.

I “assume” whatever he uses to measure his times is not counting the 1ft rollout. So not saying it’s not accurate. Just a different version of 0-60. (Is what all magazines use now too.) But even a 4.0 without 1ft is crazy fast stock.0-60 in 4.0 on a stock tune with no JB4?!? I'm highly doubting that. My absolute best with the brake snip mod and map 3 or 4 was like 3.8 or 3.9 leaving on about 9-10 psi which without the brake snip I've never seen more than 1psi. Something is off here.
True, even with that, still hard to believe but who knows. I think it only changed my time by .1 or .2 without it. Recently in decent da the best I could do on map 3 with launch control is 4.3I “assume” whatever he uses to measure his times is not counting the 1ft rollout. So not saying it’s not accurate. Have you ever tried anything different than sport mode even you launch. Like custom etc?True, even with that, still hard to believe but who knows. I think it only changed my time by .1 or .2 without it. Recently in decent da the best I could do on map 3 with launch control is 4.3
The attached are all different runs I did. The two 4.0 are after intake and catback, the two 4.2 were bone stock.I “assume” whatever he uses to measure his times is not counting the 1ft rollout. Sometimes I do spin a little too much in sport. So trying to see if anyone else has tried it in custom mode with any good results. Not really but I'm sure it wouldn't matter. Unless you are spinning somehow with awd on the 20/80 split, I guess 50/50 could be helpful but I highly doubt it
