Fans Running After Turned Off

You've had a trouble-free experience so far, is that right? All cars have issues at some point. I bet that your overheating issue is something simple. It's under warranty, regardless. And you're taking care of your car by being cautious, just like the owner's manual advises. :D
Thanks....I really love my Kia Stinger GT2 (especially since it is paid-off), but engine reliability is a must....one number priority. Hopefully, the Kia Dealership can revolve this issue quickly.....if not ….off to the Lexus showroom.....

This engine is the strongest point of the Stinger. It's almost bulletproof. Kia has tuned it conservatively (heh, who'd know when you punch it, right?:P). So, I'm sure that some ancillary item is failing or needs to be tightened back up, like a hose clamp; or replace a hose, or as suggested a thermostat. At this point, unless you ran over something, the radiator is going to be solid, and all the hoses should be too, for a long while yet. They'll find it, probably right away, and you'll roll thousands upon thousands of miles without any engine issues. The odds are in our favor!

Shit happens, dude. It's why the car has a warranty. I knew a guy who had cooling issues in an IS F when that thing first debuted; ended up being something relatively minor IIRC. Point is, the same issue could easily happen with a random Lexus SUV too. I'm the first to jump on Kia for things they've done wrong on this car, but sometimes failures just happen.

This engine has been around since the 2016 G90, and it's really difficult to find even anecdotal evidence about people having issues with it. While I think it's too early to give it the "bulletproof" branding I'd give a GM 3800, LS1, VQ, Toyota UR, or something, I see no reason to believe the 3.3T is anything less than perfectly stout.

After 4 days at the dealership, it was determined that my 2018 GT2 has a defected radiator .....which is cover under my warranty. The dealership will replace this item and test drive my car.....to make sure that was definitely the problem...

Hmmmm, I've run my car hard for testing, but it always cooled down enough before shutdown to not warrant the fans running after shutoff. Did you recently top off or drain/fill coolant? All I can imagine is you have a hot pocket (lol) of air that tripped the sensors into thinking the car was overheating and the car ran the fans even after shutoff for this reason...
Mine is in the shop for this very reason. They said they never seen this before and address getting a tech involved. Fan ran until battery died.

I just went to my local dealership today to have my service #4 done.
Took a long time and cost me can $780.00 incl tax. I think that was v. steep.
Anyway. Took the car and within the first mile I heard some unusual chiming and a notice in the middle of dash: engine overheated.
The temp gauge was right at the extreme.
I did a u turn back to the dealership and turned engine off. Fan was running strongly - I have never heard my fan running during my 2 + years of ownership - travelling at least 1 hour each way to work and home. Never.
The tech (I asked if he was qualified to work on the stinger and I was reassured that he was. And also foreman.
I waited another hour, then was given a loaner for the weekend.
It was late Friday.
Let's see what happens Monday.
By the way, I had bought sparkplugs off rockauto site for stinger. They did NOT fit.
Beware: dont buy Champion 9409 iridium despite their website saying they fit our stingers

What was included in that service, that price sounds more like a service cost at a Mercedes dealership...

That service #4 is shown in the attached.
I supplied my own oil and filter and tires cannot be rotated (directional and staggered). I wanted my spark plugs changed but the ones I provided were wrong size - they still had to charge me $125 because they had removed the intake.
Up to now 59 000 km, I have only had oil changes done, so I guess I am due for a larger scale service. Once every 2 tears seems very ok with me.
It's just the engine overheated matter that concerns me after 2 + years if trouble-free motoring.
We will see next week.

Just wanted to provide an update to my posts above about the engine overheating.
I got a call back from my dealership today at noon saying the car was ready for pickup.
Apparantly there was an air pocket in the cooling system.
I am not a service engineer. I asked if the cooling system was flushed, hoping that sounds pertinent .
I was assured all was ok and that they took it for a test drive.
About 30 km was lowered in my fuel gauge - I knew I was running on low fuel. Now I was on fumes.
Filled up - no problems - and drove home.
Happy to know all is good under my bonnet.
Thanks for your time.

Now back to making an austrian speciality: apricot dumplings - it is the season. Look it up and make an attempt!

Depending on the severity - an overheat event could potentially cause permanent damage to certain components.

Agreed. That is why I wanted this incident noted in case of damage or warranty work down the line.
