Factory order

The general consensus is that Kia does not accept truly "custom" orders. The dealer basically scours the existing/arriving inventory and does their best to get "dibs" on one that matches. Chances are that one on a boat fit your criteria and the dealership has requested that one. It sure would be nice if truly custom orders were available, like American cars from the 60's, but modern automotive scaling makes it too expensive for most non-luxury brands.

i know that i was offered a chance to order and pick up my volvo v70r from sweden. obviously, it was several thousand dollars more, and that wasn't for the airfare and hotel stay, which, suprisingly, was included in the purchase price. not sure if kia offers something like that. probably not cost effective in shipping it over, tariffs, etc.

Ordered a Premium for the factory. Will arrive mid-April. Was I lied to? I never trust a car salesman.

My story is told elsewhere in these pages, but I'd warn you to follow up frequently on your "order" to make sure it doesn't get lost or dropped. I ordered a GT1 AWD DriveWise red 19" and waited three weeks. Then followed up on it and the dealer found it had "disappeared" and was nowhere to be found. I learned later that that particular combination is not "normal" or one of the order configurations in the pipeline so it was probably just ignored. In my case, no one called or advised either me or the dealer that the order wasn't going to happen. I had to re-order a GT2.

I ordered a GT2 from my dealer on February 28 and it is on the truck getting here in 3 -4 days! YAY
We were told 4-5 weeks so right on sehedule

I don't think GT2's are hard to find, just in some color combinations. I didn't want to wait any longer after my order was "lost" so I just went with HiChroma Red / black which is fairly common.

Your car was not built "to order". If it was manufactured the day the order was placed, shipped the moment it arrived in port, and was loaded up for delivery to your dealer the moment the boat docked, it would still take that long or longer to get here. Custom orders for common vehicles from Toyota, for example, take 90-120 days.

I ordered it in Ceramic Silver with puddle lights and AWD
