Factory Badges

I feel the same way with my Yellow GT2 Stinger.....the car will be kept as it was purchased....when you start doing thing to it you, in the long run, drop it's worth.....in ten, twenty, thirty years, people will want a mint factory purchased non messed with car....View attachment 6826

Screw that! If I kept my car for 30 years it would have over 1,000 hp, a roll cage, different wheels, suspension, color...hell, it would be a completely different car...it might have wings and a jet engine.

You only get one shot at this "life" thing. I intend to enjoy the hell out of it without concerning myself about what kind of investment potential my car has (hint: none).

I’m not sure the the world will except the Kia as a collectible car that will be seen someday in Barrett Jackson but I would like to think so. It is an amazing ride and Kia is making leaps and bounds with the Stinger. Can’t wait till we see this car in years to come.

If you are under 30 and have an extra $50K hanging around, buy a Stinger, and mothball it for 30 years or so for an investment. Otherwise, drive the hell out of it, enjoy it, remember your next car is likely a few years away.

Personally I think the car would look excellent without ANY badging/names. I may price that out to see filling the holes and painting over them

I have nothing against Kia, I'd do the same if was an audi, etc. - I just like the way the car looks and feel that any badging takes away from the car itself. My WRX, for example has just the subaru seven sisters stars in the grill (nothing on the hood) and I removed everything from the trunk lid except "WRX". I'm up in the air whether to keep "Stinger" in the same manner

Would like to hear from anyone if they filled the holes & painted for a clean look on the front

If KIA did not have holes beneath the front and rear badges, they would be gone from our car.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
These are trivial/superficial changes. What I've seen ppl doing here (changing badges) is not at all permanent. I wouldn't waste time worrying about it. Though for those that do make simple exterior changes, just keep the original parts in case the next buyer wants them - or you can pop them back on proactively. Not a big deal
you are correct my man......

Do what you want with your Stinger ... but please! ... "Don't chop-top the roof like one of those beaners, don't paint any idiotic flames on it like some white trash hillbilly, and don't put a big, gay spoiler on the rear end like you see on all the other zipperheads' cars. It just looks like hell."

I agree 100%. Nothing worse then an obnoxious Wing that just looks awful. The younger generation between lowering or adding wings will look back some day and realize it was stupid. I drove in the early 80’s and we did our share of stupid stuff. My first car was a 72 Charger. I put huge tires with air shocks and the people in the back seat were 3 feet higher then the driver. Not to mention you need a back brace when the car hit a pot hole. I understand to each his own, but I like it to look clean and close to factory as possible. Just my thoughts.

Not to defend the little "rice burner" crowd, but in my area, most of them can't possibly afford car payments on a "nice" car so they buy off the used car lots and try to customize them on the cheap. That's when you get the day-glo spoilers and sparkling cheapo wheels on a 1.8L econo car with a tomato can muffler and a supercharger hood hump. Anything to be different.

Yeah. That I understand. If I only kept some of the cars from the 70’s and 80’s. The younger generation found a way to take smaller engines and pump lots of Horse power out. The old muscle cars are beyond most peoples income. What some idiots pay on Barrett Jackson is unbelievable.

Barrett Jackson? Come on brothers. Let's descend from the clouds of the future and enjoy today. We have a freakin awesome car. Modded or keep in stock. Put wings on it, paint it pink. Who cares? Enjoy the hell out of it.:sneaky:
