Um you mean blow off valves, not waste gates. No one makes wastegates for our car as they are internal in the turbo lol. Big difference between the two. Anyways the blow off valves only improve sound mostly. Your better off spending money on actual performance mods but it's your money so feel free to do whatever you want with it. Stock bovs can handle even boosted power levels. Unless yours have debris in them.Im currently thinking about getting ewg for my stinger gt2 and wanted to know if its worth it? If so, which ones would be ideal? I hear tial is good, but theres a lot of fakes out there.
Thank you for the input. Saves me money and hassleUm you mean blow off valves, not waste gates. No one makes wastegates for our car as they are internal in the turbo lol. If you really want to get that phssssss sound (and not much else) then I recommend sxth element. They bolt right in.
Would disconnecting and capping off the hoses from the recirculating hose from the intake and BOV affect the engine in any way. I’ve been looking into it and a lot of people say it’s safe and all it does it just vents to the atmosphere instead of back into the turbo thus causing boost to build quicker again. Please correct me if I’m wrong on this.Um you mean blow off valves, not waste gates. No one makes wastegates for our car as they are internal in the turbo lol. Big difference between the two. Safe to vent the recirculation valves to atmosphere - yes.Would disconnecting and capping off the hoses from the recirculating hose from the intake and BOV affect the engine in any way. Thus causing boost to build quicker again - no
What?Sorry I had meant with the valves connected lol
Does this come from the expectation that the throttle stays closed, so the turbo spools down, and the recirculated air flows backwards from the turbo up the intake? The factory recirculation valve basically dumps the excess boost to atmosphere - but it's nearly silent, because it dumps it to atmosphere - through the air filter.
In an automatic car? Who lifts off the throttle between shifts?Because in the typical acceleration/upshift scenario I'm imagining, the closing of the throttle under boost is momentary, so as the pressurized air is routed back in front of the turbo, the throttle should be open again, with the turbo pushing it into the engine.
The ECU cuts throttle between shifts, right? Or just spark? In an automatic car? Who lifts off the throttle between shifts?
In an autocross scenario, sure, there might be loads of throttle variation, and more need to dump excess boost many times. I haven't seen any data showing turbo lag being affected by a BOV vs RCV.
No, and no.The ECU cuts throttle between shifts, right? Or just spark?
Wrong these have Electronic Wast gate actuatorsUm you mean blow off valves, not waste gates. No one makes wastegates for our car as they are internal in the turbo lol. Big difference between the two.
