So some stingers come with 18in tires but are limited at top speed and some are at 19in and are not limited at top speed?

Also the dealer is telling me all awd are 18in

Just wanting to get some more info on this. I'm being offered a pretty good deal but the gt1 awd I'm looking at has 18in tired according to dealer

All stingers have electronic limiters.
19s are limited to 167
18s are limited to 130
Your dealer is wrong you can definitely get AWD with 19s and summer tires. The 18s with all season tires are an option.
Force him to get on the Kia website and show him.

130 wtf is up with that I didn't realize it was that low. That's almost a deal breaker

It's because the 18" wheels have all-season tires that are not rated for higher speeds, but there's no certainty that a dealer could remove that restriction if you were to install higher rated tires..

To me it almost seems like a bargaining chip why would i want to pay for a car advertised at 167 when it's dumbed down to 130

I had a similar challenge when deciding. I ended up with 18 to some degree because that's what was in stock and I really didn't want to wait. Plus in doing some research, 18 gave me best balance of comfort and performance. I think the 19s will make me feel the road more then I would like. But if it's performance and some think 19s look better, then you can absolutely get 19s in AWD. I was told that in ohio, all awd were shipped with 18s, not sure if that;s true or not, but based on my search it seemed accurate to me.

Dealer is definitely wrong about AWD only coming with 18s. There's an AWD with 19s at my local dealer right now.

Tbh I'm thinking about it and I've never went over 120 in my genesis but it's the thought that bugs me knowing that speed isn't there

It definitely seems to have been regional, but the dealers might have had some choice in the matter, at least for customer requests. I'm in the DC area, and I never saw any 18s listed, so I just accepted the 19s, even though I might eventually replace them with A/S tires.

In Canada we only get GT AWD on 19 wheels/tires , many of us have swapped out the tires for high end AS tires , they work great , I'll never go 167mph and its crazy they didnt just put UHPAS 18s on those cars and left the limiter alone

My GT1 AWD is on order with 19" wheels. Not that I ever drive near that fast, but it might be a consideration when trading it in. And I wanted the stickier tires because I don't get much snow.

Does anyone know if the 18in have decreased 0-60. They are reporting 5.8 sec 0-60 time on the dealer website, either they don't know wut they are talking about or the acceleration is decreased as well??

Either a typo or they don't know what they are talking about. That's slower than the GT and faster than the 2.0

I only see 5.8 seconds 0-60 listed for the 2L turbo, not the 3.3L. I haven't seen anything published for 0-60 for the 3.3L with the 18" wheels. The 18" wheels should be lighter, which would actually improve acceleration slightly. The all-season tires wouldn't have the same grip in warm weather but may actually perform better off the line in cool temps. I really don't think 99% of the drivers out there would feel a difference from 0 to 60 due to the AWD providing grip right away.

Yeah, I'm looking at the Premium. And even though I'll likely never go faster than 80 mph, I still like the idea of being able to go 167 ifI wanted to.

What's the top speed on the premium? 149?

AH i bet the info got copy and pasted or something from a 2L turbo model.

After carefully going over the huge thread about this I've come to the decision that I won't let it effect me buying, if they can get me the deal I'm after I'll take it. After all a GT1 for this cheap is pretty solid deal, I'll maybe see if I can get my michellen sports from the genesis put on it, just got em a month ago.
