I did this, lasted about a month and just said screw it and put on some carbon Akropovic tips and, let me tell you its WAY better. I wish I had just done it in the first place.I'm thinking I might grab some exhaust extenders and cut them to size so that the exhausts extends barely to the stock tips.

I just removed the lower bumper with the tips and all, easy to do. There are a couple of screws up inside the the bumper that are a pain to get at but thats all. After its off its easy to take the tips off or replace if wanted. To install aftermarket exhaust tips I assume the stock ones need to be removed?
I was considering getting the stock ones powdercoated gloss black but the car has to have the exhaust system dropped to get the tips off because the exhaust pipes sit just inside the tips. Which means I have to pay a garage twice to remove and remount. On the plus side powdercoating is cheap
For the borla you can remove just the muffler sections, makes it a lot easier. Stock exhaust also has removable mufflers. To install aftermarket exhaust tips I assume the stock ones need to be removed?

i was looking at having an "adapter" done prior to buying tips but the OEM tips are a huge oval on the muffler side. Sorry i cant give you a #. I just know that it seemed like a lot of work to keep them and eliminate the drone for me. So obviously I went the tip route. If the chrome is your look why not just get a set of chrome tips?Thinking about doing the exhaust wrap to reduce some drone.. Was just thinking - anyone tried a 2" ID rubber exhaust donut / gasket? My Subaru used to have one to join 2 pipes together. What's the ID of the OEM tips?

The stock tips are round on the inside, yes.Ah, ok. For some reason, I thought they were round on the muffler side, leading to an oval. Never really looked at that end of the car much.
I don't mind the OEM look, nor would I mind a black look. Trying to find a set of oval dual-wall tips for a reasonable price seems impossible, though. Not an alibaba / aliexpress user, can't find anything useful on there. Seems like Akrapovic is the only choice for 51mm inlet.. And that's like $250 for a set of 4 tips, based on ebay.
Anyone got any pictures of round tips that are 76mm? Those should fit without cutting but wondering how they look if anyone has a picture.
I like tips that are tapered on the inside and i cant find any oval ones with that look.

No not at all. Only issue i had was adjusting everything to hit "center".Thanks, looks good! You didn't have to cut anything to make them fit?
