I mean could have just put new rivets in.

OK i just looked at my stock pipes they are OVAL and the opening on the rear spiltter is also a Oval on the 2022. It appears the Borla Exhaust pipe is not oval its round which is fine as all this is going to be removed of the existing exhaust.

The height at 75mm (2.95276 Inches) would clear but the 105mm width (4.13386 inches) seems like that would be too tight. see pics below ? a 75mm and 90mm would work but I don't see that sizes as their site indicates. Would the 180mm lenght be ok?

It would look better with Oval Tips for sure on the 2022 model.

With a 51mm Inlet size to match up the BORLA TIPS per previous write up by BUZZRUSH

( Per BUZZRUSH Sounds good. Good luck and I hope you find the right size because those tips look awesome! Don't trust what Borla tells you. The pipe is 2.25 but necks down to 2 for the last foot or so. Several members on here will confirm this. I did a ton of homework on this and many people on here said the 51mm fit their borla perfectly. Not sure if my borla tips are a bit misshapened but I removed the entire muffler to fit the tips and the 51mm wouldn't fit over the exhaust. I then tried them on the OEM exhaust and they fit perfectly. Only way to know for sure is to get under your car and measure the muffler tips yourself. Ordering from Aliexpress can be a bit of a pain...long delivery times and if you want to return them, it'll cost you a fortune. If I were you, I'd buy the tips from Socal for 50...great price and if they don't fit (theoretically they should) you could always sell them on here to someone with the OEM exhaust. Much better than paying 130, waiting 3 weeks for delivery, dismantling your exhaust only to find they don't fit, then trying to return them and being told by the post office it's gonna be 200 to ship them back:mad:. This happened to me...twice lol. The risk vs reward going with Socals tips is definitely worth it. My 2 cents...good luck!

So what tips did you actually end up getting? I too have a 2022 and am looking at aftermarket tip options.

I'm literally as u wrote this looking for some. I originally bought these below in the wrong size I got 57MM inlet X 75mm X 105mm I was going to be putting them on a Borla Cat Back Exhaust when I found out the correct inlet size (Borla Inlet is 51.92mm Attached Photo below, so I should have gotten a 54 MM inlet size so it connects to that. I don't want to compromise the size of the new
Exhaust TIP SIZE that the 2022 has. That is one thing I like about the rear of the car for sure. I have been told the stock tips have to come off. They are actually for looks and really serve no function on the stock set up so not sure if they do or dont (I wonder if they could be left in place and install new tips thru it just a thought) But the hole size I have measured seems to be
5-1/4" wide X 4-1/2" tall oval shape when they get removed. (excuse the tape measure below originally i was measuring the inside dimension)

So when looking for new ones they have to be smaller than this so they dont melt the plastic is my guess of the rear as they will be the real deal when they go in and will get hot. I'm thinking a 1" smaller on width and height. All the ones on ALIEXPRESS are in MM

I wish there was some more 2022 Options out there or could see what others are doing???. I'm super new to this game only had the car 1 month but trying to learn as much as I can I have no clue about any of this I just research as much as I can.

The factory tips just screw on from the back if its like older models. Youd want to remove them for the new aftermarket tips. I also have only had my car for a month and found zero options for exhaust tips on the 22s. I think 1in gap is probably too big youd have a pretty wide opening with a smaller tip in it.

I agree with u. But what do u think about the heat to close to the plastic. I have seen some that are 90MM X150MM. Even bigger than the opening. But of someone can make a custom size it would be perfect assuming no melting

Id say as long as its not touching youll be perfectly fine so the closer you can get the better. Theres honestly not a lot of heat that goes to the tips, they still get hot, but they are also the very last part of your exhaust. Hopefully the aftermarket takes notice and gets something rolling.
 
Does the tip have any effect on sound, or just appearance?
 
And they reduce the cabin noise if you have bimodal mufflers fitted. All the noise goes out the back.

If you have a quiet system all up, there's probably not much to be gained.
 
Had a Q300 catback on the G. Gave it a nice subtle rumble sound. Probably makes no sense to put an exhaust on the 4 cyl. Not after the rice sound.

Put the cheap Chinese tips back on today without the carbon looking shrouds.

Anybody try the Shark Racing Billet Aluminum Exhaust Tip (I'd link but this forum blocks me :rolleyes:)
Looking to avoid the Chinese knockoffs, and the only "legit" ones I see are Borlas with 2.25" inlets when I need the 2"... I got the Ark grip exhaust, which I also hear might not even line up well. Is it a lost cause? I'd love to get some drone reduction if I can.

Those don’t connect to the exhaust so would be useless for drone. I’ve used 4 sets of AliExpress tips and they’ve all been good.

I didnt like the stainless steel look so I found a set of Sebring oval tips, black, for my MBRP. Fit like a glove.

Ideally you want a double wall tip as the risk with these single wall ones is that they get much hotter and can melt your diffuser. Keep an eye on that, especially if it’s touching the plastic.

But they are well clear of the plastic , thank goodness. I had return the akrapovic round tips as they were touching the plastic. Stick to the ovals.
