I have a 2023 Kia Stinger GT2 RWD with about 13k on it. I want to upgrade the exhaust but I absolutely do NOT want drone inside the cab. I have heard Borla is better for that. Any thoughts from my fellow Stinger madmen?

When it comes to drone, every exhaust on the market for the Stinger will have a small share of it.
However, some exhaust do a better job at masking the drone sound with their design.
We have had several customers swap the Borla Catback Exhaust for the Stinger for the MBRP Pro Series Exhaust W/Optional Resonators.
Borla sounds great, but can be a bit raspy at times. MBRP with the optional resonators do a great job at reducing the drone sound.
Here is a recent review from December where a customer switched from Borla to MBRP and loves it.
Therefore, if you are looking for an exhaust with the least amount of drone for your Stinger, I would recommend the MBRP exhausts with resonators linked below on our site:

Hey that's actually me! I ended up putting on the optional resonators and it definitely helped with in cabin sound and has virtually no rasp with the mbrp pro active catback.
I also do have the borla active. With the optional resonators id say the mbrp active is more daily driver friendly and pretty quiet with valves closed. If you running stock secondaries you most likely won't need the resonators as it will be nowhere near as loud.
Without the resonators and the ark downpipes it sounds absolutely amazing but the drone and booming is on the high level. It depends what kind of sound you after and how tolerant you are to drone/booming with valves open. Deep or aggressive with a growl. Personally the deeper tone is very addicting to hear and sounds more pleasing especially when there is no rasp.
I have videos of the borla and mbrp i can share if you want. To my surprise the mbrp pro active with ark dp is louder than borla is. Trust me I tried both back and forth a few times and I fell in love with the deeper mbrp pro tone.

The borla definitely does do a better job with valves closed to keep in cabin sound less since it has bigger mufflers and built in mini resonators. It's raspy kinda like the mbrp with downpipes. It's going to be louder than the mbrp actice with stock secondaries. Once you add ark or jun bl secondaries then the mbrp becomes even louder than borla but the drone and booming is on high level. Exhausts you sometimes need to hear in person to get a better idea.
One big plus i love about the mbrp besides its deep tone is hearing your downshifts and better valve engagement than the borla. Since the mbrp also has smaller turbo style muffler you can hear it bit more with valves closed than the borla which sounds a bit too muffled to me but everyone will have different opinions when it comes to exhausts. But yeah, that's what swayed me to the mbrp!

Just wanted to chime in regarding the resonators.
I would highly recommend you also try it without resonators first IF you have catless mid pipes from ark or jun bl. The sound is incredible and I missed it after putting on resonators. After a few weeks with the resonators, I decided to take them off since they really tone down the exhaust by a large amount, more than I would honestly like.
And it takes away its raw character that is so addicting to the ears. Again this is subjective and remember the drone/booming is on high level but honestly I get used to it. It's very difficult and expensive to get a loud and drone free exhaust. You would have to go custom.
Make sure you get exhaust tips that fill in the gap in the rear fake exhaust tips. You will need to remove the fake exhaust rings. They are kinda a pain to remove.
The ones I use are these below. Make sure they are 63mm inlet and 130mm outlet. They fit pretty snug but do a good job of having sound exit outside of the rear bumper. You do not need to get them welded on. Just clamp them on properly. Give it 3 weeks to get the tips. The glossy colored ones look great.

Hello everyone. If I were to get a any of the active valve exhaust from Borla or MBRP... leaving resonators, tips out of the picture... which exhaust is better as is? Gonna start off with the cat back first with K&N typhoon intakes. Does Borla have less drone than the MBRP? This topic is probably beat up pretty well but im torn between the two.

Honestly sometimes the best way to evaluate an exhaust is hearing it in person on the car and actually driving it on the freeway. All these online videos do not replicate the in person true sounds and do not let you experience the in cabin sound on the freeway. But being how rare the car is, that can be a challenge.
