Apologies to ev6 fans in advance but every time I get out of my stinger I have to look back over my shoulder for a second look and I just can’t imagine doing that in the ev6. One of my criteria when I buy a new car is looks and I’m sorry but the stinger is just hands down the better looking car

Yes. @Transmetal specifically mentioned yesterday or the day before that they think the butt of the EV6 is lacking. @7Andrei7 posted a couple of pictures of his Stinger parked next to an EV6. I'd go further and say, butt ugly.

And I still do what you do, nearly six years later, and it never gets old looking back at my parked Stinger.

Don't these two vehicles serve completely different purposes.

They're completely different in all three; form, fit, and function

I think they do and that’s why I’m surprised that people make the comparison. If you like crossovers and don’t have any issues with evs then the ev6 is hard to beat. I’m a car enthusiast and I’ve modified almost every car I’ve owned and I’ve owned vettes, Chevy ss and lots of fun cars but this is the first that I haven’t wanted to modify other than window tint

I should add that I don’t want to modify because of warranty regardless of what people say about Kia not being able to deny warranty due to a tune because I don’t want to deal with that but after my warranty is gone then who knows

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Well No.

Kia brought out the EV6 to replace the Stinger and it is probably one of the most woeful decisions a car manufacturer could make.
I haven't seen one in 11 months of driving my Stinger. They were in the showroom with $120K price tag. There they sit.
It's a 2.5 tonne blob.
I would say the only company that may have done worse is Ford with the electric Mustang. It is not sleek, It is a 4 door. It's a little sedan.

I’m just not a crossover person and where I live evs just don’t work well. No infrastructure to support the ev6 here. Now if the infrastructure was better and it looked like a stinger I might be tempted but neither is the case so I’ll just keep my stinger

I agree that they are completely different, but blame Kia because they sort of juxtaposed the two.

It's actually a crossover liked the EV6. Source: my wife owns one.

They needed to free up manufacturing capacity for the EV6 and other better selling models, and the Stinger was by far the lowest hanging fruit. It was the worst selling Kia every year of its production. I'm curious why they even brought it to market. The ICE sedan segment had been shrinking in favor of crossovers and SUV's long before they revealed the concept.

I'm guessing they wanted to give their brand a "performance" edge so they started developing the Stinger, but 3/4 of the way through realized electric was where the performance segment was heading. So they released the Stinger anyway to recoup some of their investment, knowing full well the electric crossover EV6 would soon replace it as their performance flagship. Explains why they treated the Stinger as an afterthought after releasing it.

I just wanted a growly V6 before they were outlawed, and the Stinger ticked all the boxes and then some.

Yep. It just misses the mark completely.

I must admit there is nothing else in the KIa range that would make me buy another Kia.

Most cars have a 10 year body shape with updates

Stinger had two years of sales and then 3 years of covid then they killed it.

I agree. It's not the 1st time anyone did that though. The current Dodge Dart? The 90's/2000's Duster? The late 80's/90's LeMans? Hell, Mitsubishi reimagined the Eclipse as a bloody CUV because someone there was adsorbing hardcore pharmaceuticals rectally.

Plus, I heard GM was trying to do something similar to the Corvette line... Because the Great Unwashed wants SUV's/CUV's over coupes and sedans for some reason.

As a CUV, the Mach-e isn't bad; they could have just called it the Mach-e and called it good. No reason to call it Mustang.

As for Kia? Nothing with them looks good to me right now, either. But I'm like 15 months into ownership and drive my vehicles into the ground. In the next 7-13 years a lot can change.

The closest to Stinger features without the performance is probably something like a Mercedes CLA250 4 door coupe. Price wise a little above the last Stinger here.
But as Daimler owns what 20% of Tesla? Expect a lot of Mercedes turning into Electric cars with Tesla batteries and motors.

I own both. The Stinger is my favorite out of the two but they are not comparable cars in my opinion. Can't beat driving 6000km for $87.00 Canadian in the EV6 though.

This is maybe the perfect situation. One of both. Why is the stinger your favorite of the two?

I thought the EV4 was more the Stinger "replacement" anywho, I love the looks of the stinger... but the back of the ev6 is fire... i've never liked a back of a car more than the ev6, it is probably my favorite rear design on a non 6 figure car.. lol. but that's why different designs exist. :D ... to the point where I almost purchased one this summer but decided against it since we are traveling more in the RV anyway.
