So when i start the vehicle, I left it warm up, when I start driving after about after 5 minutes the car start to do this vibrating. Not the steering wheel or anything but the entire car vibrates for about 2-5 minutes after that it goes away. It will only happen again if I let the car sit for a few hours or more. Kia inspected it and of course didn't find anything. Plan on taking it back next week. Anything anyone can think of or have gone through

What is time between starting that it does this? Every time or only when it hasn’t been started for hours?

Only if it seats for hours so lets say I was wake up in the morning warm it up start to drive, after bout 3-5 minutes it vibrates the steering wheel don't move but the entire car shakes. After about 5-10 minutes it goes away. Lets say I go to the store go in and out after 30min it will not happen but lets say I go to work and back out after 3 hours then the issue will happen but not as long

Check the tire air pressure on the info screen. I would look for one rear tire a few pounds low. Not enough to look flat. Was perhaps set low when the dealer dropped the pressure after shipment and therefore cleared the TPS warning. But low enough that when parked for a while, particularly when cold temperature, a flat spot forms on the tire and a few miles down the road goes away? Steering wheel doesn't shake, because it's a rear tire. . . . .

Hmm I would check that in a second

Have you tried just starting it and driving off? I've been warned by "those who know" that letting a car idle to warm it up is not good for anything (and it wastes gas, of course). Modern vehicles are designed to be driven at once when starting up cold. Of course, you take it easy until operating temperature is reached. I'm imagining that your throttle body sensor is not liking sitting doing nothing. :P "Working" makes it more happy. (Seriously, something like this. And I've read that a failing sensor can also affect dashboard electronics and audio systems: which may answer a couple of recent questions about that on other threads too!)

Wow didn't know it gets to that extent but yes last night I did try that. I started it up turned my seat warmer and steering wheel heater drove off and in like 3 minutes the vibrating happened for like 5 minutes

Well, crap then. As long as the vibration isn't excessive and doesn't last after the engine is at full operating temperature, I'd live with it for the next while and see if it tapers off. You know, if nothing else manifested, and this always happened with THIS car, I'd chalk it up to the individual quirk category and move on.

I agree with this. Unless it happens when you're sitting still too, if not then I would think Legendsk has it.

Does it vibrate while it is idling or when you're driving?

If it's while you're driving i'm going to say it's a wheel out of balance or tire pressure but it would have to be pretty low to cause the vibration you describe. You may have lost a wheel weight or perhaps hit a pothole and bent a wheel. It could also be as simple as dirt/snow caked to the inside of your wheel. The vibration with an out of balance wheel will come and go as you describe and gets worse at speed.

And as said above, if it's not the steering wheel vibrating then it's likely a rear wheel that is the culprit.

Modern cars are ready to drive off when the idle comes down from start.
You might have an issue with a cold start problem. Check the air pressure also like others have said.

What tires do you have and how many miles on them?

Ummm...you're not driving down the same bumpy road when leaving your house every time are you? Takes about 5 minutes to get to the next bit of tarmac? lol

Could also be an engine timing issue with ignition.

When I start my GT up in 10° weather, the coldstart idle jumps to 1600 rpm’s and the solid lifters click away until rpm’s drop down. I would never just drive away “at once” in this scenario. I would give it at least 30 seconds.

I have the exact same issue. Did it ever get resolved? Iv had my tires balanced 3 times and I still get it. Like you it smooths out after a few minutes driving and is worse in colder weather.

Probably the tyres, once warmed up they resumed their “shape” what tyres are you running & at what cold pressure.

Makes sense that it could be the tires. Figured that it might be something rubber since it is sensitive to temperature.

I had the same problem on the original tires when i had 18k miles on them and they were absolutely shredded. Figured at the time it was just because the tires had gone bad. I switched them out with General G-Max RS since i wanted a semi-sporty tire that lasted longer than 15k miles and i still get the same sensation.

I'm in Texas and feel almost nothing on the hot summer says but in the mornings on my way to work when it is still 80 degrees i can feel the slight vibrations. Tires are a bit low at about 34 psi ill try airing them up to 37 and see if that helps at all.

If you're going by the TPMS indicators, those send a couple of psi lower than actual.

Interesting. Mine are bang on. I have a high quality tire pressure gauge though so depending on what you're using to test manually that could be the difference too.
