Engine Stutter Throttle > 50%

Hey guys,

Installed my JB4 over the weekend along with new plugs gapped to .022. Also have the BMS intake installed. Running 93 octane fuel.

The car runs perfectly on Map 0.

Map 1 and Map 2 stall and stutter for a couple of seconds before finally accelerating.

Any ideas?

I took a log in each Map setting, but not sure how to post them.

I was running firmware 21/12//5 when I took my logs today, but have since updated to the newest available.

Looks like one of those units that needs a new 2580 chipset from us. What date did you receive it?

I purchased the 450 HP kit here through the Stinger Store about a week ago.

OK seems plausible it had the wrong 2580 since it was shipped with v12 firmware. Those were the models affected.

Yes, I just made sure the wording or numbers were the same direction. Has the same problem and the new chip worked great.

Good call. Just swapped mine out and no more stuttering!!!

I know I was so pissed after changing the plugs and the JB4 install then to run horrible. I was agitated gave Terry a hard time, but he was great. When I got the chip and tried map 2 was like wow definitely feel the power.

@Terry@BMS I’m having the same issue after reinstalling my JB4 from taking my car in for dealer work. No problems before I removed it so I don’t think it’s a chip problem. No AFR reading either. Any ideas?

Sounds like a damaged plug then.

@Terry@BMS Yeah I’m not getting a good log. It freezes and doesn’t show anything. Would the plug make it shudder

If new plugs do not do it we also have a special version of the 2580 we're experimenting with that lets us firmware toggle on and off the over/under voltage safety systems. Not the best idea but in a pinch might work for some of you.

If a spark plug was the problem wouldn’t it still shudder on map 0? And again the log not working ?
