Engine Replacement, The Full Story.

Appreciate the update on the saga!
I appreciate the cute bunny picture. its a nice way to start off the morning. (Context if this is ever read in the future, this persons profile picture is currently a bunny)

Maybe air/bubbles trapped in the coolant system? But surely an expert Kia service tech would be able to diagnose and repair something so simple...
that was our first thought, but we ran every flush/purge/drain that we could and it was still doing it. I personally watched this process being done.

What the.... your dealer is just destroying my view about car dealers :geek:
as much as my dealer is awesome, its probably the only dealer for 1000 miles like this, so your opinion of most dealers (which I imagine is not very high, and for good reason) is probably still valid.

I'd be wiling to drive my car across the country for an oil change there.
Shit pay for my ticket to vegas and the oil/filter and I will do it for you.

My local dealer loves modded cars, and has several modded stingers of their own, which I think is the reason this all worked out. Unfortunate to hear that a local of yours was not as lucky. Sorry to hear that.
mine is the same. they actually recommended me most of my mods. they just ask that i take it off before showing up.

Great back and forth gents. What's your opinion on catch cans?

It's called /ignore

Also my Stinger is still in the body shop, going on three months now. I'm dying.

catch cans ? the dealer said they catch all the bad juju in the intake tract, and when its full it tosses all that bad juju back into the turbo causing engine failure , so no dont run em .

If you empty it regularly, then you get rid of the bad juju once and for all.
Maybe the issue is that each engine is different. Also different climates (humidity, temperature, etc) may affect how much is collected, so you need to learn how often it needs to be emptied.
Personally, I only get a few ounces between oil changes, so I check it every oil change.
There are some maintenance free units that dump back into the oil pan, so you don't even need to empty them.

Jeez.

Id imagine its due to the hatch you mentioned?

That and half the shop was out sick for a couple of weeks. My son and I had the same thing, nasty respiratory cold. (not rona)

The PCV is downstream of the turbo, so the juju just hydrolocks your engine, the turbo will be fine.

@Rearfacinggopro man I had the same issue with my cars heat. First time I noticed it I was at a Walmart waiting for an item to be brought to my car. So I was sitting with my car in idle it was a before Christmas so cold outside and I noticed the it was getting cold in my car almost like I switched the AC on. I turned the heat up still nothing continued to get colder. It wasn’t till I started driving and moving that the heat started working again perfectly fine. I noticed that I had the same issue at drive thrus as well. I have intakes Jb4 and secondary downpipes. This story scares me! I feel i’m having the same exact issue you had. Haven’t noticed as of late because it’s warmer out now. Do you think I should contact Kia?

Since I don't see any mention of it in the 3 pages of posts since the original I'm thinking that you all have dismissed K&N filter oil as a possible cause? Asking for a friend.

Yes, With any luck it will just be a blown head gasket and not the entire engine. make sure you strip off the JB4 though before you take it in.
