Engine Coolant - 2 Reservoirs?

Do our Stingers have 2 engine coolant reservoirs. On my 2.5t, I noticed the one coolant reservoir (closest to the engine cover) is pink/full. However, I see another engine coolant reservoir (closest to the radiator/front bumper)? Also, the one closest to the radiator/front bumper is low on the pink engine coolant...do I need to fill that one up?

The one near the engine cover is for the water cooled intercooler.

2.5T Intercooler coolant

Am I correct in the assumption the 2.5T uses 2 separate coolant loops, one for the intercooler, other for the radiator? I make this assumption based on the fact that there are 2 coolant reservoirs, one with piping going to the radiator, other to the intercooler. If so, how is the intercooler...

Without seeing a pic it's impossible to tell. But yes, both should be kept near the F when cold.

Yes, this Smartstream architecture is pretty trick. Instead of the conventional air-to-air intercooler that is mounted in front of the radiator, Hyundai uses a smaller, more efficient liquid-to-air intercooler that is mounted between the radiator and the engine. If you follow the coolant lines coming out of the smaller reservoir, you can see they lead into the compact intercooler.

Both reservoirs have their HI-LO lines, so just keep them in the range, and you are good to go.

I will say the liquid-air intercooler on the 2.5 is pretty slick. Would have been nice if the 3.3 had that. Does that require a pump or does the natural heating/cooling cause the fluid to circulate?

Thanks for the info, guys! I ended up getting the engine coolant from the Kia dealership ($18+tax) and filled up the lower reservoir to the "F" line.

Mine is the same thing but the larger coolant is empty? Is that ok?

No. You should top off the radiator and reservoir to the full cold mark.
