2023 stinger. Noticed that when I put my car in reverse, my side mirrors will continually switch between tilting up and tilting down. Also, I noticed, because it was at night time, that my door switch lights such as the window switches, will turn off and then turn back on. A last point is that there is a ding sound when you put the car in reverse. When all of this glitching is going on, I hear the ding sound (indicating reverse) continuously go off and on. Help

Can you clarify a bit or post video of what is glitching while it is happening? The mirrors tilting down when you put your car in reverse is a feature and can be turned off. The ding is normal as well and the lights dimming might be a new feature. From the reading it is unclear if these things are on a repetitive loop even when you are not in reverse or if they only happen when you go into reverse gear.
And as always...consult your manual!

help? its a 2023 ... take it to the dealer to get it fixed under warranty.

not sure what else there is to say ...

Yes, while in reverse all of these things (the mirrors tilt down.. few seconds later... they tilt up, the ding noise indicating reverse dings over and over with each new loop, and the driver door lights blank out) it's thinking that it's going into reverse over and over but it's been in reverse the whole time. This is brand new and never acted this way.

Brand new car with electrical glitchiness: should be easy to spot the loose connection somewhere behind the door panel. May your resolution be swift and painless.

Dealing with dealerships suck man. Takes part of my soul each and every time going there

yeah, i hear ya! if it was something simple, sure, i'd chase it down and fix it myself, warranty or not. electrical gremlins in a car as complicated as the Stinger with all the gizmos and electronics? hell naw ... miles of wiring harnesses and tons of sensors to deal with ...

I echo the inescapable fact that electronics in modern cars are NOT a thing to tackle on your own: which includes avoiding the dealership because they suck out your soul. At 60K miles, the warranty on ALL things electrical (not just electronic) goes away. You are scores of thousands of miles away from that (I am less than 2K miles from that point). Take your car in with the obvious issues that the dealership will see for themselves: they will do a diagnostic and repair it: this is not a system failure, it is a localized connection issue.

Thank you. I have a big hate towards kia dealerships. I personally believe their techs suck. I have decided to take my car for diagnostics at one of the best shops I have ever been to. I will pay them for the diagnostics and if there is something that needs to be fixed, I will have kia re-find the issue and fix it.

The good news- I have been unable to replicate the issue this morning. Maybe a few restarts of the car fixed it?

That's good/bad news, since "cannot replicate" is Kia's fallback position when not able to find anything wrong. I have a similar electronic glitch occurring, going back many months, that I've shared on here already: with my TPMS system, it literally goes months without a flaw, then suddenly I get the "drive to display" screen, which can last for days, then return to sending the psi screen just fine. I doubt that a diagnostic would find a thing wrong.

Rear sensor probably needs to be calibrated.
