Bad timing for a new EV. Sagging EV sales may indicate that people are finally figuring out that you don't need an expensive, half-ton, environment-killing, tire-killing EV battery unless you have a long commute. A small battery can get the EV job done for most drivers most of the time. For infrequent long trips, you can always buy a PHEV, rent, or use a 2nd vehicle. Also, now that most critical thinkers have figured out that there is no climate crisis, people are less motivated by environmental concerns to go electric. They probably should have spent one tenth of their money updating the ICE Stinger.
Isn't this the same blog that predicted the end of the Stinger 3 or 4 years running? If / when it actually happens, let me know. If they make a wagon, I'll have to look at it long and hard..

It's still interesting to see what an ev stinger would look / perform like. I'm sure the renders would change closer to production. I was guessing this group were stinger fans regardless of EV/ICE and happy to see it continue!
They say it's the EV8 then provide a picture of that EV4 monstrosity? Not a very good article. This is what the EV8 prototype was rumored to look like. If it does end up looking like this then I'd gladly have it parked next to my Stinger.

I can't see Kia going back from the EV6 to an electric Stinger. They failed on the EV6. A $100K 2 tonne pile of junk that looks like they drive it into a brick wall on the production line. I have not seen one on the road in 12 months. Stinger sales lagged which is why they got rid of them.
Can you honestly nominate one new car in the Kia range that you would buy?

I actually see EV6 in my area almost as much as I see a Tesla, so almost daily I'd say. I see more EV6 then say MachE, (new) Lightning, GMC Hummer, Polestar, Rivian, Lucid combined probably. That's just me though. 100k for the EV6? They don't cost nearly that much, not here at least. The EV6 gt is the top of the line model, correct? Not saying I'd want one or anything.
I pay enough for my electric bill. Last bill was almost $300. All our cars gas combined in a month ain't costing $300 but we (my family) probably aren't the target audience anyways.

Gotta agree with that. I cannot stand most of the newer designs coming out of either Kia or Hyundai, especially the EVs. Gone are the days of elegant timeless designs - like the Stinger - with the brilliant "Tiger Nose" signature motif that unified the entire Kia product line. Sadly, Peter Schreyer's design language and legacy has since been systemically erased from Kia's product line, replaced by incoherent geometric lines and non-sequitur shapes tossed together to look more like alien spaceships than dignified automobiles.
Only Genesis has done well with its two-line theme and superman grills.
Just checked the prices. You can get GT AWD one with under 5k miles for around $40k. Considering it was over$60k less than 5k miles ago........I don't even know what to say.... It's like all these companies investing billions of $$$$ into electric cars are aggressively trying to go bankrupt.
Australia does not subsidise car purchases. But they do public transport. The largest tram network in the world is Melbourne and we have 24 hour trains and trams on weekends. It costs $10 to travel anywhere in the state for a day....
