Eibach Rear Sway Bar Impressions

He said in his hey day that Jack Nicholson could party harder! Apparently he left keif in his dust , still going after a 3 day/night binge.
................hmmmm that gives an idea !!!

I have just the spot picked out in a corner of my shed (or, if the box fits, laid out on top of two of my Michelins).

Good morning to all....

Follow up on the sway bar install... brother installed them at Lexus dealer on the lift. The rear took a tad longer then the front, but I was out of there in about 1.5 hrs. Slight error on my brothers behalf, he inserted the bar upside down on the back by mistake. I suspect I would have been out in less then an hour if not for this error. Any ways, bars are set to soft on both ends and it rides amazing!! Corners even better and is more planted under hard acceleration. It does feel faster because there is less sway in the rear and car is more precise, but we know this is just an illusion. I would just like to highly recommend this upgrade as most others do as well! Have a great day to all and be safe! Side note, on the lift, the front bar took less then 10 minutes to install. Hope this helps everyone. I will be back later with a further update ounce I can drive on some serious roads and hit more off ramps!o_Oo_O

Incredible! Install times are a surprise. I'll take that info with me on Monday afternoon when my rear sway bar gets put in.

Yes, my brother was saying... this is a piece of cake!!! Only slow down was him trying to fit the air tool up in that small place on the driver side. Make sure you use a flex swivel and lube the bushings prior to installation of the bar!! If not, your gonna be cussing a lot!! I have the complete Eibach suspension kit on the car now, ride quality is still great with the soft settings! Trust me on this, soft is all you need!!!! The stock sway bars are extremely thin compared to the new Eibach bars!!

I just printed up your information. And I am taking that to hand to the service tech when I hand over my car.

Cool deal. Hope I was able to help with the installation.
It does already. You articulated two concerns I have: how much time will this installation take/cost, and lubrication questions. I hadn't even considered "upside down"!? The link to this thread is on the sheet I printed up. :D

I’ve put in 54 hours this week pending no need to take off I should be looking to get the rear soon, my hope is to help my open rear end hook better.

Awesome review @kevin

Nice write up, I’m glad your happy with the result & for those of us that have done this upgrade this is the same ride experience afterwards, as stated here & in previous threads, this is the best single upgrade you can do to your Stinger....its a must & I also highly recommend it.

No doubt guys! I was on the fence about putting the bars on because I was so impressed with just the springs install. Also was waiting on the rear bar to come in to complete my kit. Glad I didn’t sell the bars like I was contemplating! I would have been upset and then later realized the mistake I made. Lol

My rear bar is in. Took just over an hour. Jerry Seiner Kia charged for just one hour; $143.97 (including tax and a cleanup fee). I've only driven it home (c. 6.5 miles). So all I can say is that in the "soft" position the ride feels very comfortable still. That was a concern: would the 76% increased stiffness affect the smooth ride? Nope! When the currently nasty weather clears off and the roads dry out, I will make my first test on "my skidpad": the cloverleaf from east I-215 onto north I-15; and the interchange going the other way (my 85 mph curve:D).

Good to hear!! Please keep us updated with your feedback on the lateral G status. Lol. I haven’t gotten a chance either to put some serious G in a curve. Weather has been super cold and don’t want to hit any black ice.

So after having mine installed for a while now with my winter tires on I can say I really like the improved cornering, turn-in and reduction in body roll. I will say that I can feel the roll in the front now more because the back is so much more compliant. I might end up throwing the front bar on as well, but I don't think it's a requirement or anything. Excited for when I can throw my pilot sports on to test in the spring.

N S Stinger/ go ahead and put the front bar on! It’s all a system that works in harmony to keep the torsion reduced in the vehicle. Make sure you put it on soft setting though.

Got on the cloverleaf uninterrupted this afternoon. As I approached I turned traction and stability OFF, put it in manual gate and as I entered the turn I downshifted to 4, so my RPMs were over 3K. With all that going on I didn't steer as smoothly as I would have liked: "apexed" twice, lol. I tried to get a glance at the G meter as I came around the top, but for some reason I had a bit of a challenge doing that very well too. I did snap a glance at .6 G, which isn't impressive at all; I'm pretty sure I got to at least .7 briefly because I didn't hear the tires at .6 but did hear them as I came out on top, accelerating away. And the tire sound was very low. Now the feel when I had that level of tire sound before the Eibach bar was without question a lot more movement in the back. I wouldn't describe anything I've felt at any time as "floaty", as some drivers do (but they are comparing to other high performance cars; I can't do that): but did the back end feel like it was moving in and out a bit? Yes, something like that: yet still assuredly grippy: I never felt like the rear was going to do something sudden and alarming. I would say it was planted but "playful", as Biermann likes to put it.

Now the Eibach is not only planted, it is in a smooth arc throughout the whole turn, no "in and out", nothing. Can I go faster in a turn with this? That is what I believe, but I don't know yet. I'll have to push harder next time to get the same degree of tire sound as with the OEM sway bar. I am guessing that I'll be pulling more G but not a lot more, maybe couple more tenths, when I have the tires roaring. But will the understeer be the same or less or more? Without the front sway bar, perhaps the understeer will come on more sudden like when it does. Maybe I won't push these A/S tires enough to deal with understeer; and yet I'll get at least the same G in the turn that I did with the OEM sway bar and noisy tires and a lot more feeling of control. I already know that even one time on the cloverleaf proves the Eibach keeps the rear end down and virtually motionless. Cool.
