So today I walked to the Kia garage to pick up my car from having a new vacuum punp installed, and new brakes and rotors. I approached what looked like my, assumed completed, car from behind a fence. Then, I realized it wasn’t mine, but walked around to the other side of it…and gasped at what I saw!!

I sincerely hope it wasn't caused by a Dealer employee.

I wonder why they towed it to a dealership. That's gotta be totaled.

Because there is an on-site body shop that’s part of the business. Its parked in the body shop’s lot, which is adjacent to where the regular maintenance is performed. Sometimes they park overflow in the body shop lot when they have a lot of cars.

Looks like the entire side will need to be replaced, but nothing frame related. That could cost less than the total %, especially now that the car's book value has been going up.

A coworker of mine just got hit a few days ago. Probably would have been borderline total one or two years ago. As crazy as things are now, though, repair even for the above is going to be more cost effective. Especially when you're dealing with lower production vehicles like the Stinger. The insurance company opted for repair in my coworker's case, despite extensive drivetrain and suspension damage. Only need to look at what Autotrader considers a "great price" these days to understand why.

That’s done deal haha.

Mine wasn't as bad as this but it was pretty expensive. Rear quarter panel damage is such a headache... Feel bad for the guy

That sucks. I would not want a car repaired that extensively. First it drops your value and follows the car. Second, what are the chances they really do everything 100% right?
