Morning. Guess I will be the first to post. You can see from my signature the list of mods I have done to my car. Never had so much fun. Should have done this when I was younger. These are all mods, upgrades that will give you more power, better response and sound that gets noticed, yet still be a fun family car. The Stinger to me is the poor man's rich car, which gives you the looks to compete with the big boys(Audi, BMW, Mercedes, etc) but at a price that won't break the bank. When you have a Masaratti owner complement your ride, that says something.

Of all the upgrades I've done the most significant and first was the addition of my ADDW1 V3 oil catch can. Our cars have a GDI Engine that are prone to carbon build up on the intake valves. To maintain performance and efficiency it is imperative to do what we can prevent this build up. Check out the pictures of my setup and results from using it.

The Stinger is already a nice looking, high performance vehicle without any mods or upgrades. But for those who want to drive it for years to come and maintain that performance an OCC is the first thing that should be done out of the gate.

So, Personally I think the best upgrade you can do for your stinger are upgrading the Spark Plugs to the HKS Plugs, as they are pretty much needed for all applications to make more power without risking engine damage, HOWEVER, Besides the Plugs, I have given below what I believe is the best "First Mod" you can do to the Stinger based off of what kind of events/driving you like to do.

Drag Racing -
If you're a drag racer, the best mod you can do is either a brake snip mod if money is an issue, or a Tuned TCU from any of the reputable tuners out there (Tork, Lap3, Lozic) as both allow for smoother shifts, quicker shifts, and most importantly, the ability to actually build boost using Launch control, which can lead to Much quicker 0 to 60 and 1/4 mile times even with a completely stock car.

Roll Racing -
More power. a piggyback like the JB4 is totally fine for an easy 50 to 60whp bump with little to no other mods, However if you really want to fly, a tuned ECU from any of the reputable tuners here are your best bet for making loads of power and torque for these cars.

Track racing/Autocross/canyon runs -
A swaybar upgrade from a company like eibach will allow the car to stay more planted around corners as it will eliminate a large amount of the bodyroll that these beasts have, and it will really help your times improve.

GT driving with the occasional Need 4 Speed on the highway -
Upgrade your brakes! Replacing the stock rotors and pads on the stinger is widely considered one of the first mods you should do regardless of how you drive, as it will eliminate the Pulsing that WILL happen eventually to every single stinger that has the factory pads on it because of dust build up. Upgraded brakes will also allow you to stop better when that person that you just passed decided to be an A**hole and pass you just to brake check you.
*Cough* EBC make great front and rear sets of pads for the stinger.

All for Show -
if looks is all you're after, then personally, I believe that the CK71's DRLs are the best first mod you can do, as they are easy to install, will work with EVERY single other visual mod you could do, allow for more of the road to be viewed at night better, AND really boost the overall presence of the stinger. (Which is really ironic, because its one of the mods that I have not done yet LOL)

Driving Like a Grandma -
Sell your stinger to an enthusiast and get a K5, they have a softer ride with better gas mileage, and still look pretty good!
On a serious note though, See the "GT driving" section, as the same logic applies.

The first mod that everyone should make on ANY car that they get, and the first one that I'm making to my Stinger is Wheels and Tires. Most OEM wheels and tires are not selected to allow the drive to get the most out of the car, and most factory wheels are far heavier than aftermarket ones are. Factory tires are generally selected for low rolling resistance to maximize MPG and not focused on performance. Lighter wheels and better tires will likly lead to better handling, more grip, and better MPG.

Of course the next biggest mod is to the driver. Spend some of that money that you would spend on new parts on a driver's ed course or even an HPDE day in the car stock. At the very least a HPDE day in the car as stock will help to better understand the limitations of bot hyourself and the car.

Mine is easy, Front and rear sway bars, it made a massive improvement in everyday driving, and even more on the spirted stuff, and it's always in my list of "To Do's" for Stinger owners

For me I have to allow the engine to breathe. So intakes are first. There’s lots to choose from, I went Injen.

I will have to double down on brake pads as the first mod for all new and especially heavy cars. In multiple cases, I've had rotor glazing that makes the warped rotors sensation and many people end up replacing or resurfacing rotors to fix the issue. This is a known and recurring issue with stock brake pads.

My first mod, would be replacing the stock pads as soon as you get any car/suv. When I installed my Greenstuff pads (couldn't get the yellow stuff) for my Stinger. On my bed in procedure, I managed to get 1G lateral force while braking. That is no joke. Every time I use the brakes hard now, I need to look at the rear view mirror as there is a high chance I'll have someone end up in my trunk.

I've tried lots of pads in the past but, if I can get EBC pads for my cars, I get them. I am confident enough that they will work on the street as well as on the occasional track day.

Now, off to find wider tires :D

Edit: couldn't find a picture of the brake pads install, so here is the latest pic of the car from the last ski trip.

I can not think of any mods that have not already been mentioned but for me the first modification I would do is the oil catch can, looking at the crap that comes out of mine I'm glad its not going into the engine.

I don't have a lot of mods on my Stinger but my current favourite is the MBRP exhaust. Not too loud and not too quiet with exhaust tips installed :) I felt like the stock exhaust was too quiet for such a sporty and aggressive looking vehicle.

Best of luck to everyone and thanks EBC for this giveaway!

I have gone all out on mine as you can see from my signature. I would have to agree with others that an oil catch can (or 2) and breaks/rotors should be high on the mod list for anyone wanting to start down the rabbit hole of modding. Sways are another high one for me as well.

I currently have EBC Yellow Stuff, and cannot say enough good things about them.

Good luck to everyone!! <3

Great stuff, glad to hear you like the pads!

Trunk rattle fix.

I'd have to say my best mod and most recommended is a catch can, too. Add one at least for the passenger side.

I am going to go with an OCC or eibachs as two simple mods that every new owner should consider if nothing else at all. Both are simple and safe mods. If i had to choose one, the OCC.

My favorite mod is the Jun bl midpipes and MBRP ss exhaust combo… wicked sound and a rocket from a dead stop makes my days very enjoyable
