just like face masks and the BS Plandemic ..........its ALL designed to keep the herd moving to be controlledEV is future land. Right now, it's all dabbling. Tesla is the closest to practicality. A different approach to ICE could keep them around. It's already happened more than once. They just keep getting cleaner and more efficient. The infrastructure is huge. EV infrastructure is still embryonic. And it isn't practical for road trips. And it isn't "Green" either, like a lot of (most) people think. To produce EVs and dispose of batteries is an enormous footprint on the planet too. If all vehicles were EVs, we'd be hearing screams to stop destroying the planet, count on it. So, EVs are no panacea. And I do not anticipate them replacing ICE vehicles anytime soon.
Will the Stinger go EV? Probably, maybe. I don't know. Nobody does. If it does, in order to "survive", I'll see if the next gen is still a "Stinger".
My babe got her once a month quarantine drive today and it was nice getting back behind the wheel. Been driving the Optima hybrid and it has been fun to toss that around, reminded me why I got wider tires and put on some lowering springs. The Sport mode on the hybrid is nice, was reaching for the paddles and forgot it has none. Soon as I got back, I got the Stinger out of the garage and went for some real sporty driving. Took a sharp curve rather quick and saw on coming traffic coming a little wide and I tucked in to the right and powered on. The wife asked, how did you keep it in the lane like that, I responded the car was gripping well as the tires were doing their thing. Prior to entering the curvy roads, I switched the Mando box to my sporty tune with a tighter handling setup. It was comfortable as the car was in it's comfort setting, didn't go into Sport mode as the cops were all over the Waze map today, but still enjoyed the outing.
It would be nice if they would pair up a hybrid system to 2.5T. I was surprised they used a 1.6T and hybrid system for the 2021 Sorento and not a low pressure turbo 2.5T
Wrong thread?
The 2021 Sorento will, apparently, have the 2.5T in non-hybrid form in North America (which will be built in the US, as opposed to other market Sorentos which will be built in Korea).I think they want the hybrids for Hyundai and Kia to steer toward efficiency, while the Genesis hybrids to aim for performance (if they make them and don’t just go EV only).
The 2.5T on its own can make around 300hp. With a hybrid system it might be too much for getting groceries in a Sorento.
