I just bought a 2020 Stinger GT2 and love the car. On the test drive I didn't notice this but after my 50 min drive home I began to notice the bottom of the seat (not the back w/ the bolsters) bulges slightly in the area of my right butt cheek (or gluteus maximus for those who prefer proper anatomical terms ;). It becomes very uncomfortable and I feel it for hours after driving for a short time. I called the dealership after getting home on the 1st day and told them. They said bring it in and I took it back a few days later and their service dept was useless - they acted like I was wasting their time and reported the seat operated normally. I will say, I have an assistant who drives for me during the day while we're working and she doesn't feel it. But I have another assistant and she felt it immediately. So different anatomy can dictate if it's "feelable". The passenger seat is normal. I have a case now with Kia Consumer Affairs and the girl who is handling my concern understands but needs the dealer to say there's an abnormality with the manufacturing of the seat before they can replace any parts. The purchasing dealership won't do anything and is a disappointment. My Kia rep said to go to another dealer. This is a waste of time and a literal pain in my *ss. So, wondering if anyone else has noted anything off w/ their driver seat?

Disclaimer, not being rude.
You dont keep your wallet in your back pocket do you? Your using your right foot and leg while driving so movement on that side is going to add to any issues. Do you lean on the console? Little lean towards that side?

I understand what you're going through. the GT2 seat digs into my left thigh where the front of the bolder meets the main seat bottom. There is a ridge that I can feel. My dealer dismissed it as normal. I'm not going to bring it up again to them and I'm working to make the seam smoother. Good luck with your case.

No, it’s a valid question and the answer is no to both questions. I have owned numerous other cars (like most folks), many of which quite high-dollar and never experienced anything like this w/ a seat. It’s most unusual.

It was just a thought... best of luck getting it fixed

I noticed this in all three Stingers I test drove including the Stinger I currently own. My discomfort is in the lower back of these seats. I am not sure why... perhaps I have to further play with the adjustment settings... oh well...

This is interesting. I do not have issues with my gt1 seat, and both driver and passenger feel the same.... i have no clue why it would bulge unless there was a factory flaw inside of the seat. Like the heated or cooled bits are misaligned under the leather. A pain to check and i bet the dealer would try it.

Is this on the part parallel to the ground? I swear mine has developed a "bump" or "lump" in that part, maybe 4-5 inches from the seat-back in the part that I sit on that wasn't there when I bought the car. Quite annoying. Adjusting the seat seems to make it better and/or worse, but definitely one more factor to consider (lease is up in June).

Welcome and good luck finding a solution. You could try a thin seat pad. I would never let "them" tear into my seat looking for some solution. The very idea!

I have the same issue. Can't remember if it's the right or left glute area, but there's a noticeable difference on one side of the seat bottom. I have basically been ignoring it. it's not horrible to sit in but there's definitely something going on there. I'm not really planning on doing anything about it. I have the GT2, so not sure if that makes a difference.

You guys and your butts
Not my fault I have a nice butt...

For me it's to the left but also leaning more towards the center for the discomfort sitting in this car...

Since the dealer is useless, take it to an upholstery shop And see what they say. They deal with it more than your dealer does.

Gilley, in case you were not aware, the seats on a GT2 have adjustable thigh supports, you may want to adjust it and see if it helps.

I would take it to a different dealer to have them check. In my years of purchasing vehicles, I buy where I get the best deal and service where they treat me and the car well and have staff that is focused on customer satisfaction.

Kia cares about customer satisfaction and competence? Weird...

While some dealerships may not operate this way, KIA corporation has the expectations that this should be occurring.

Mine is definitely in the seat portion (bottom) not the back. I’m sorry you’re having issues too but it does sound like a different issue?
