Hey everyone,

I’m having an issue with my driver’s side exterior rearview mirror on my 2020 Stinger GT2, and I’m hoping to get some insight. About three weeks ago, I noticed that the following functions stopped working:

Mirror won’t fold in or out
• No adjustment
(can’t move the glass)
Puddle light not working

However, these functions still work fine:

• Turn signal operates normally
• Mirror camera functions properly
• Mirror heater & auto-dimming still work

The passenger side mirror works without any issues
, so the problem is isolated to the driver’s side. Given the combination of what works and what doesn’t, I’m wondering if this could be related to wiring, a fuse, or a control module rather than the mirror assembly itself.

Has anyone dealt with a similar issue? Would it be worth swapping out the mirror assembly, or is there something electrical I should be checking first? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

First rule, always check for loose connections. Rule that out entirely before talking about a mirror assembly, because they are wicked expensive new. Your still within the 60 months bumper to bumper, probably, and so replacement of electrical things is still under warranty, unless you have put over 60,000 miles on it.

Sooooo, the hard part is the connector is under the stem, which requires removal. The issue is there’s one way tabs on it, I don’t want to break those tabs unless I’m replacing.

Yeah, I wasn't suggesting that you tear into this yourself. Are you under bumper to bumper warranty still? Even if your not, have the dealership do the diagnostic, then decide what you'll afford. Looking for a used mirror is what I would do, since I have no more warranty covering electrical parts.

There are no one way tabs its 2 t30 bolts that hold the mirror on, there are also breakaway plastic tabs that were used for manufacturing but if you wiggle the mirror assembly they break away easily and are not required at all. I would say you need to check the mirror harness, i had to clean mine out due to a little minor corrosion when the right BSD kept disabling. I would check that and the harness that goes from the door to the inner main harness. I have had mine off a few times to diagnose the BSD issue.
