I'd like to have a discussion about simple modifications that could be done that focus on improving performance at a drag strip.

I already have a tune, so areas I am thinking of are mostly around flow and air temperature.

My thoughts include:
less restrictive intakes and filters
improved intercooler
insulation around relevant components

.. and one area that's not often discussed is cooling the engine bay itself while NOT moving - heat soak. In a moving vehicle it's not going to be as important, but at the strip, there is a LOT of sitting around while idling, or moving very slowly. Turning off the engine is a double edged sword, as the heat still builds up, and now oil is not circulating around precious components like the turbos.

To this end, I've been thinking about some kind of forced air system - possibly a simple radiator fan override, but perhaps some additional fans. Converting the fake hood vents, perhaps get a spare set that allows for venting that I can switch out. I've even wondered about using those vents to mount some fans to draw air through the engine bay. NOTE these kinds of changes would be for use at the strip, would be removed and not need to be durable enough for regular driving.

It's a different problem, I think, than most of the performance discussions here.

3.3TT - Ultimate Performance Intercooler Install and Review
Here a Thread on the UP intercooler which lowered IAT tems by an average of 20 f degree even at standstill....I will be getting Power agency intakes soon....One thing you missed worth to mention is TIRES...Traction...less of an issue for AWD but still improves 1/4 times...I will be getting some Nittos NT05 this coming summer before i hit the strip this should improve times not sure by how much but i will have data this summer...Another one worth to mention is weight reduction although is difficult since this is GT car but you could take off the front and rear seats....

If you cool things off too much the car won't launch. If the wait time between runs is an hour or more the car gets too cool and you will get fuel cut right on launch. So have to live with the heat. Get an intercooler and and ice your intakes i guess.

Have you considered a more aggressive tune?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Use the JB4 on top of your flash map to raise boost when on race gas at the track....:)
