Downpipes or JB4?

I eventually may get some kind of tuning solution, whether a PB box or an ECU tune, but am willing to wait out the current development cycle until something emerges as a clear front runner (for my particular needs, at least).

Before I do that, though, I'm installing downpipes (secondary cat delete) and higher volume intakes. To me it doesn't make sense to crank up the boost and engine power, without providing better air/exhaust throughput.

I'm not a fan of loud, but even without a tune the downpipes are a good compromise for me - very respectable flow and power gains when used with the stock exhaust and mufflers, with just a slightly throatier exhaust note. Same with the intakes - not much of an audible change under normal operation, but I like hearing the turbos when they are called upon ...

Yeah I think so too...considering they're only 60 bucks and that I'll definitely be getting the job done by my specialized shop, it's pretty much a no brainer! On the other hand, what will the Kia dealership say when (should I say IF?) they'll notice the high performance SP? I'll surely unplugged the JB4 before getting to the dealership...Do you guys think we might get into trouble with Kia?
They are a great investment and well worth the money for multiple reasons. The plugs themselves claim a HP & MPG gain and are tested to last a lot longer than stock plugs.

Kia should also have NO problem with them as they installed my plugs for me. I had hesitation & misfire with stock plugs and they offered to switch them for me. They said that replacing them means Kia won’t warranty the plugs themselves, but the only other reason it would become an issue is if you had a specific problem related to the plugs then they wouldn’t be covered. Otherwise Kia would have to prove the plugs caused a problem to not cover anything else.

Well worth the investment just for the peace of mind and better performance, especially if tuned.

Naturally, it'd be best to go both. However, my vote goes to downpipes first. It's a "permanent" mod that will constantly benefit you indefinitely and won't require any maintenance updates or any adjustments as you continue modding down the road. I always go for the physical bolt ons before I touch the electronics. ;)
Think the downpipes may cause an issue/red flag with regular Kia services down the road ?

Nahhh, as long as you leave the primary cats aft the turbo on there, everything from that back doesn't throw codes. If it doesn't throw a code, Kia is unlikely to be concerned unless it directly impacts a part that you're claiming warranty for.

I truly can't imagine how post cat exhaust flow being increased could cause a warranty issue. Now, exhaust restriction from factory flow, I could see....
