Door Frame Ticking / Squeaking Elimination

If it makes a difference my build date is May 2018 and I'm 99 percent sure my noise is coming from the door panels and not the weather stripping/molding around the outside edge. Just haven't had the time or patience to dig into it yet
Hmm. I have an April 2018 build date. However I didn't pick it up until Nov 2nd. I currently have 2100 KM on it and have not experienced any noise from the frame. If that is the case, I may have to expect it. Do you know at what mileage you started to hear yours at?

It has always been there. At first I thought the weather stripping was just drying out and rubbing so I lubed/conditioned it and that didn't help. I then found this thread and realized I have a whole other ball of wax on my hands..

Very possible late 2018 builds and/or MY 2019 builds don't have the squeak and ticking issues. Same with the rear hatch rattle. We'll have to hear back from owners.

I see. That is unfortunate. I will have to keep an eye out on this. Currently at around 2100 KM and haven't noticed any sounds. However I do hear thumps from the wheel wells and thought I should sound deaden that area. I already went ahead and sound deadened the battery compartment area and it slightly worked. If it does come around, I will probably just have to use those seals like in the previous posts. I am wondering if we have any chance the Dealer would fix it. Probably not without a notice from Head office.

Dam. I mean a bit of the remedies on here involve taking out the panel, but there was one just adding extra lining which I probably would do if I find this happening to me. Now I will have to go on a quiet ride and listen for myself Lool. Makes me not want to do it cause then I'll just spend time trying to fix it. This car is honestly fun to drive. But every time I just pop into the forums or on the FB groups there are little small things I keep finding wrong. Hahah. I guess it all comes with the issues of a first build!

you shouldn't need to go very far. Mine is only apparent at very low speeds, like pulling into your driveway or riding around a parking lot.
hmm. I will test it out in the morning. Hoping it isn't too bad.

My '19 GT2 has a very squeaky driver's door. I think some of the others may be as well. I wanted to try the "shoving something in the door latch" method of solving this but, for the life of me I CANNOT get those torx screws undone! What sort of tools are you guys using for this? My drill isn't strong enough and I CERTAINLY am not strong enough.

I used my Bosch 18V cordless drill. Try a shot of WD-40, let it sit for a few mins and try.

Thanks for the image of wisdom... I tried the WD-40 but it didn't really help. I was able to get the bottom screw out with a bit of effort but that top screw simply would NOT budge. And I have a strong feeling this really is what's causing the squeaking issue. The door handle doesn't even have a solid feeling engagement when opening and closing like the other doors do. There's a pretty solid, "clunk", so to speak in the other door handles when opening them. The driver door handle feels like there's butter in the mechanism. Once I got the bottom screw out and saw it was covered in Loctite, I understood why I was having such issues...

OK so I got the door latch off finally, had to run out an get a ratchet set to accomplish it. Unfortunately trying to extend it doesn't seem to help. I put 2 dimes in between the latch and the plastic backing and also applied two layers of foam adhesive to the back of the black plastic piece. Still squeaks. Door does feel a bit more solid though. Guess next step will be silicone lube.

Appreciate the update. My car has developed a slight, intermittent but annoying rattle somewhere on the passenger side but I cannot find it for the life of me. I want to say it's the dash, but could be the door as well. Grr...
I had the same thing. It was driving me crazy. Turns out, the passenger A/C vent was broken - the horizontal louvers weren't connecting and they were just rattling around. Taking it to dealer to be fixed.

anyone have what I would describe as a slight buzzing coming from a window? This has started once it got cold, around 1500 RPM the driver side window will make a slight buzzing sound. I can't hear it if listening to music. The only time it bugs me is in stop and go traffic where I'm passing over this rpm threshold over and over again. If I crack the driver side window, it goes away.

I have been trying to find a solution for the noise on the passenger door when going over 65 mph (of course I could stop at 60 mph but who would do that with the Stinger? :sneaky:).

I have a rattle kind of noise going over 65 mph that gets louder and more consistent as the speed goes up. You can hear it here (sorry for the road noise):

It seems that the noise is coming from the top corner of the passenger door close to the B pillar (between front and read door).

I already took it to the dealer and of course they said they couldn't find it. Any suggestion on how to fix it?

Thanks!

Have you tried lubricating all the door seals ? There is an excellent product that Honda sells called Shinetsu grease . I lubed all my rubber seals and I think it made a bif difference on "ticking" on the door frames ..................this is all a process of elimination .........ulimately the source to all my sound/noise issues was related to the sun roof , which they finally replaced ( the frame ) good luckgrease.webp

This same issue has been brought up in the past in the forum from memory someone found the fault and solution. Sorry I can't tell you where to find it. Maybe try some key words using the magnifying find button in the thread title.

I did a quick search and found several different approaches but will do the elimination approach as suggested. Thanks

Hey, if you happen to find the fix for it can you post which one it was here? I have the same exact noise with my '19 Stinger except it's on the driver side so it's a beating on long drives. To me it sounds like it's happening lower than the top of the door but it's hard to pinpoint these things.

I looked at it this past weekend and I believe it is coming from the back door. It seems it is between the front and back door. I have ordered the Shinetsu grease and will post the results here.
