Door Ding Protection

I received my side moldings today. they are the same color as the car. I sent the car color code to the makers of the moldings. I'll report back when I install them. I got them from sportwing dot com/Body-Side-Moldings. Two pieces for each side they were packed well and took about a week for them to paint them and get them to my house.

How many post are required before a pic can be posted?

15, I believe.

On this subject, I really dislike door protector moldings on a car that is sporty looking; I'm okay with SUVs and vans and trucks having them.

That said, if there is regular exposure to danger/damage, like the above post about having an assigned parking spot, then it seems to me that PPF on the doors is the answer. The self healing kind.

I'll post a pic as soon as they allow me to. I just put the color matched side moldings on today and they look like they are part of the air vent indented area behind the front wheel, similar to the pics at the front of this thread. My car color is Panthera Metal. I did not get the chrome inserts because I don't want them to look like side molding and I think I got the look and the protection I was seeking. Again I got them from Sportwing and they matched the car color perfectly. They have very easy instructions and a youtube. It worked just like they said it would.

I also got my windows tinted with ceramic tint. The front windows have a combine tint of 25% the lowest limit allowed by law in Texas. The rear windows are a bit darker. All verified legal so no problems with inspections.

Question: Is there a Stinger Forum app that I can post pics directly from an iPhone? Still newish.

Just your web browser. The forum software is designed to work with mobile browsers.

Doors are really only exposed to dings when parked so my preference would be for a temporary , removeable product kind of like this :

My door ding protection is to park away from everyone. I park in the back lot at work (referred to as "the pits").

Most ppl are too lazy/fat to deal with the walk from this lot, up a steep set of steps, to the main lot and the building.

Thankfully the parking lot is patrolled by security and has surveillance cameras.

Any other parking lot I visit I park pretty far away and hug a curb.

Nice! Something I would do. If that lot is usually pretty empty, I'd personally park a couple of spots over from where you park to avoid anything from the tree landing on top of my Stinger.

I made my own set for $30, they are attached with magnetic strips. Ugly but effective.
now now mate , dont be so critical of yourself ! you'll have a better day tomorrow ! ........................Bawaaaaaaa:D

There are maybe 5-10 cars that park there per day. But like AV8R said they do tend to be drawn to cars that are isolated. It's almost like they think the cars are lonely so they leave them together for a play date.

That's why I'm so close to the curb--because some jackoff will inevitably park next to me AND get as close to the white line as possible.

Yeah, pull straight forward to the nearer end stall. No trees there.
