This is a pull from 20 to 80 mph in third gear. I hit "start logging" just before throttle down. Hks plugs, mbrp cat back, injen intakes and JB4 on E30 map 3. Getting some turbo chuffing or surge if that's what it is called when letting off the throttle but I think I am close on my ADD W1 bov adjustments. Just no clue what I'm looking at. I could use some help if anyone has some advice. Thanks in advance.

First, please post the csv file. The graph is not helpful since it only contains a fraction of the logging parameters. The csv has everything.
Second, no need to be quick on the log button, there is a setting to set the log threshold, set it to like 80% throttle., it will start logging automatically.

Am I mistaken that at full throttle the car will still attempt to kick down a gear? Is it best to push the throttle to the kickdown spot and no further?
It doesn't really matter if it kicks down, as long as you get a good pull through the rev range at WOT for a couple gears. If you're rolling along at 25-30 mph and floor it you'll drop from say 4th to 2nd right as boost starts to come on. Hold it through a shift in the 50s and a second one around 80 and that'll give you the full rev range of 2nd and 3rd.

One full gear pull at WOT lets you see boost build (/taper), how the car behaves through peak torque and horsepower, etc. First gear tends to run out too fast vs. higher ones that give you more time with the engine loaded. BMS asks for ~30-80 mph at WOT.
So if you kick down you'll be in 2nd at ~2000 rpm as boost is coming on, hit 3rd around 60 and have another 4-6k pull to ~80. Or, you can hold 3rd and have a single gear pull from say 1000-1200 to redline. First scenario gives you two looks at high rpm / boost / load behavior, second scenario trades the top of 2nd gear for a look at the very bottom of 3rd where nothing exciting should be happening.
And if you force it to hold 4th, you'll be even lower in the rev range to start, and would need to run up to even higher speed (90-100mph?) to see how it behaves at 6000+. So my guess is BMS just tells people ~30-80 to see at least one full sweep through the (boost/high load) range without having them stress about gear holding. But happy to have @Terry@BMS correct me.
Not sure why you have a pdf instead of a csv. I notice your jb4 firmware is pretty old (22), the latest stable is 27, you should update it. Maybe the old FW used to save to pdf.
Anyway, looks ok for map2, but you should update the FW and get a new log.

Yeah, Ando got back with me pretty quickly via email to let me know things looked good. I sent him a 0-60 and will get another run in map3 maybe tomorrow. Guess I need to go figure out the update process. Thanks for the info.
