Just traded in my MB for new stinger, having trouble seeing where I can see text messages via bluetooth on dash screen.

Apple CarPlay will read the message to you and you can respond verbally using Siri but you can’t see the text

So only two things I miss about MB GL vs Stinger GT Limited.....
1) no text messages displayed on Nav, no biggie will set Do not disturb text reply while driving on Iphone X. And if I want go corded I can use carplay audio work around.
2) Door locks, so used to my door unlocking as soon as my hand is around handle (no button pressing). So getting used to that.

Other than that this car brings me a LOT of pleasure. Unreal how much fun to drive this car. It feels built for long range fun. So far exceeded expectations, and this coming like a lot of you, from premium brands, like MB or Lexus. Super satisfied the value for the money is unreal.

Now going to figure out what I want to do winter tire wise. We had an above 5 degree weather here in GTA, which is highly unusual but it gave me the chance to drive it on our highways with the summers.

Well I'm glad to hear you're liking the Stinger and you're right - it's an amazing value. It's a seriously competitive luxury car. People have to learn to stop letting badges fool them...

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Take this with a grain of salt because it's only something I think I heard somewhere and can't find a confirmation anywhere, but I think Kia is adding hands-free texting over bluetooth soon or in the next generation of UVO. Hopefully the Stinger will be able to update if that happens.

Do you get 1 year of uvo remote services free ? Like being able to start to car from phone etc. Genesis G70 they are including it for 5 years! I’m guessed they are really trying to differentiate themselves.. but that a nice freebie.l

You get 5 years free UVO with Canadian Stinger purchases also, or rather I did, and sales person did not lead me to believe it wasn't standard with GT Limited.

Ohh sweet, good to know.. how has it been.. the app works ok? I find my Uconnect app for my gran Cherokee works about 50% of the time.. very buggy and slow.. also how does it let you know it’s running, ? Text message or just in the app.?

I wont be able to use it until Monday as they have not fully registered the vehicle in their system.

However you can down load their iphone or android app, I searched uvo from canadian iphone and it came up right away.
There is a demo mode that shows you what all can be done. I was going to play with it tonight, never really looked yet.

Thanks I just did, an I’m impressed with the level of adjustments you can do from the app.. full climate control, and able to change the length of the car running.. way more than the uconnect app. I am pleased

Yeah I just took screen shots of all the main screens for you. I will post it in the appropriate forum in case someone else interested in seeing what Canadian UVO is about.

It works well. I’ve been using it since December- a little slow to send the commands but still a handy tool
