Does Manual mode stick in 'Custom' drive mode, if tranny is set to sport?

I know that flappy paddles will keep the chosen gear indefinitely when in Sport mode. Can someone try setting the drive mode to 'custom', and Engine/Transmission to 'sport' in the custom mode, and see if the manual mode still sticks? Or will this only happen in Sport mode?

Thanks!

Why?

Why what?

I'd like to use the paddles properly but also be able to customise the suspension / steering at the same time.

Not a fan of letting the auto choose the gears all the time.

Why not?

I like to use the paddles properly (not have the transmission randomly jump back into auto)

And I also want control over the other drive mode settings at the same time (suspension, steering etc)

I don't currently own a Stinger yet, so it would be helpful for someone who has one to answer this for me.

If you turn off traction control and another setting (holding down traction control button for longer than 3 sec.) then it won't shift unless you use the paddles, regardless of the mode.

Even in sport mode it'll still shift by itself unless you turn off these two options.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
This is something that might change with model years, or even be different between Aus and US Stingers. So, even if I satisfy your question it will only be for a MY18 GT1.

Er, what?? Launch control is traction and stability control OFF and shifting automatically works. What are you saying? Also, in Sport mode the trans reverts to "D" when you come to a complete stop; or you can hold the paddle down and in a couple of seconds the trans will leave manual mode and revert to "D".

To stay in manual mode with the paddles and not have it constantly go back to auto, put your gearshift into manual (Go to "D" and then push left). Now you can use the paddles and not have to fiddle with them constantly going back to auto every time you stop.

for those with the e-shifter, aka gt2 models, they don't have that manual gate..
